The present disclosure relates to methods for production of (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-ol in a yeast cell using desaturases and fatty acyl-CoA reductase. Also disclosed are methods for production of (Z)-11-hexadecenal in a yeast cell. Also disclosed are methods for production of (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-yl acetate in a yeast cell. The disclosure also provides for nucleic acid constructs and yeast cells useful for performing the present methods, as well as to pheromone compositions.

Method for production of moth pheromones in yeast

The present invention relates to the production of compounds comprised in pheromones, in particular moth pheromones, such as desaturated fatty alcohols and desaturated fatty alcohol acetates and derivatives thereof, from a yeast cell.

Production of desaturated fatty alcohols and desaturated fatty alcohol acetates in yeast

The present invention relates to oleaginous yeast cells for the production of fatty alcohols and derivatives thereof, in particular desaturated fatty alcohols, desaturated fatty acyl acetates and desaturated fatty aldehydes. Also provided are methods for obtaining such compounds, which are useful in pheromone compositions.

Methods for producing fatty alcohols and derivatives thereof in yeast

Wax esters (WE) and triacylglycerols (TAG) can be accumulated in large amounts in plant cells. The present invention relates to insect pheromone precursors which are produced as components of WE or TAG in plants. Further the invention concerns means and methods for the production of plant cells producing WE and/or TAG containing insect pheromone precursors in form of either a fatty acid or a fatty alcohol. Said method uses plants where wax esters are modified by desaturase, fatty acyl reductase and wax ester synthase or the triacylglycerol is modified by a desaturase. Finally the insect pheromone precursors can be extracted and used in the manufacturing of insect pheromones from WE and TAG.
