A method is provided by a central-unit-control plane (CU-CP) of a network node for exchanging information with a central-unit user plane (CU-UP) of the network node to manage Quality of Service (QoS) flows for the optimization of radio resources. The method includes transmitting, to the CU-UP, a request for flow information for at least one QoS flow and receiving, from the CU-UP of the network node, the flow information for the at least one QoS flow. Based on the flow information for the at least one QoS flow, at least one action is taken.

The method comprises, in response to a request for establishment of a communication with the wireless device using a first network, receiving a redirection instruction to redirect to a second network, and in response to whether a node in the second network supports communication with a node in the first network, selecting a first procedure or a second procedure for establishing the communication using the second network.

It is provided a method performed in a network node of a cellular network also comprising a wireless device, the wireless device being in a discontinuous reception mode comprising receiving periods and idle periods. There is provided mechanisms for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission of a transport block from a network node to a wireless device. A method is performed by the network node. The method comprises detecting a HARQ failure upon having transmitted the transport block to the wireless device, wherein the transport block has been transmitted using a HARQ process. The method comprises transmitting data of the transport block to the wireless device using two mutually different HARQ processes as a result of having detected the HARQ failure. There is also provided a network node configured to perform such a method.

A method performed by a network node for preventing a release of a connection from a User Equipment (UE) to the network node, which connection uses a Real Time Protocol (RTP) for media transfer. The network node operates in a wireless communication network and serves the UE. The network node detects a gap in a packet flow of the connection. When the network node has detected the gap in the packet flow, the network node prevents the UE from initiating a release of the connection caused by the gap in the packet flow, by sending a message to the UE, which message forces the UE into a failure. The failure triggers the UE to initiate a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Connection Reestablishment procedure.

A method performed by a network node for retransmitting a Radio Link Control, Protocol Data Unit (RLC PDU), to a UE is provided. The UE and the network node operate in a wireless communications network. The UE is configured to use Discontinuous Reception (DRX). When an RLC PDU transmitted to the UE is indicated to not being received by the UE, the network node determines () a time until a first DRX on-duration time period that is possible to allow time for Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operations to complete a retransmission of a Medium Access Control (MAC) PDU. The MAC PDU is associated to the RLC PDU. The network node then initiates a retransmission () of the RLC PDU to the UE according to the determined time.
