This ophthalmic lens for improving vision has a light cut factor CutLED between 32% and 90%, for wavelengths ranging from 380 nm to 500 nm, defined by formula (I), where Σ is a discrete or continuous sum operator, λ is the wavelength in nm, lens T % is the spectral transmittance of the lens in % and LED emission is the spectral distribution of a white light emitting diode; a mean luminous transmittance in the visible range higher than or equal to 75%; and light transmitted through the ophthalmic lens has a colorimetric value b*, as defined in the colorimetric CIE L*a*b* with illuminant D65, lower than 25.

Ophthalmic lens for improving vision

Disclosed is a lamination machine including: a film support for receiving a functional film to be laminated; an article support configured to receive and position the optical article in a predetermined orientation; and an actuating member configured to move the film support and the article support toward each other for laminating at a predetermined pressure the functional film received in the film support onto the optical article received within the article support. The article support is a blocker support configured to receive a surfacing blocker onto which the optical article is to be disposed for lamination, the article support being further configured to transmit laminating forces induced by the predetermined pressure to the lamination machine during a lamination operation.

Device and method for forming a functional film intended to be laminated on an optical article

The method for manufacturing relates to an ophthalmic lens comprising a substrate and a functional film securely fastened to a curved face of said substrate. This method comprises a method for gluing the functional film, which is initially flat, to said curved face. The interferential and organic filtering film selected as said functional film filters a preset band of wavelengths and the gluing method is carried out so that the maximum of the degree of major deformation experienced by the film on a surface is lower than 3%. In the ophthalmic lens, the wavelength at which maximum filtration is observed at the center of the lens and the wavelength at which maximum filtration is observed at the periphery of the useful area of the lens differ by a less than 5%.

Method for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens and said lens

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens including a substrate and a functional film securely fastened to a curved face of the substrate. This method includes a method for gluing the initially flat functional film to the curved face. To ensure that the functional film when securely fastened to the curved face filters a preset band of wavelengths centered on a wavelength denoted &#x3bb;p, multiple functional films are preselected; two knowledge bases are established experimentally; a film is selected, using the two knowledge bases, from the plurality of preselected films, the wavelength &#x3bb;i' on which is centered the band of wavelengths that this film filters for a certain degree of deformation being equal to &#x3bb;p when the degree of deformation is that given for the curvature in question; and the gluing method is implemented in order to securely fasten the selected film to the curved face.

Method for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens

An ophthalmic lens includes: a transparent ophthalmic lens substrate made of organic glass; an adhesive layer covering at least one of the faces of the transparent substrate; a transparent film made of a thermoplastic polymer fixed to the transparent substrate via the adhesive layer; and an abrasion-resistant coating covering the transparent thermoplastic polymer film, characterized in that the ophthalmic lens has a minimum thickness at the center of less than 2 mm, preferably less than 1.5 mm and even more preferably less than 1.2 mm. Two processes for manufacturing such a lens and the use of an adhesive multilayer film to improve the impact strength of such a lens are also described.

Impact-resistant ophthalmic lens and its manufacturing process

A method of transferring a portion of a functional film () onto a substrate from a base plate () comprises the formation of a groove (S) which passes through the said functional film and also a separating film () placed between the functional film and the base plate. A portion () of the separating film is then detached from the base plate with the portion of the functional film. The portion of said separating film protects the portion of the functional film in the rest of the method. According to one improvement, the portion of the functional film which is detached from the base plate comprises a useful portion () and a margin () that are connected together by the portion () of the separating film. The useful portion () of the functional film may then be gripped and handled via the margin ().
