An electrical connector consists of a connector housing () and at least one electrical contact element (). The connector housing () and/or the electrical contact element () have a lead content of &#x3c;0.1 weight percent. A method for manufacturing a contact element from a blank which has a lead content of &#x3c;0.1 weight percent, uses the following method steps: Loading the blank into a manufacturing machine; producing a pin region or a socket region for electrically contacting another, opposite contact element; producing a fixing region for fixing the contact element in an insulating body; producing a crimp region for electrically connecting a conductor to the contact element or finishing the crimp region if the blank has already been previously prepared on a different machine; and removing the finished contact element from the manufacturing machine.

In order to provide a simple option for connecting electric conductors () of an electric cable () to a connector () and, in particular, to always ensured the correct length of the conductors with electric contacts () attached thereto, the invention proposes a so-called cable manager () with a measuring pin (), on which the individual electric conductors () can be measured and correspondingly capped such that the desired and exact length of the electric conductors () to be inserted into the connector is always ensured after the attachment of the corresponding electric contacts ().

Electrical connector for connecting electrical wires to an electrical apparatus

The invention relates to a plug connector comprising an insulation displacement contact carrier which accommodates insulation displacement contacts, and a plug contact carrier which accommodates plug contacts. The plug connector further comprises a housing which connects the insulation displacement contact carrier with the plug contact carrier. The insulation displacement contact carrier is provided with a thread for a first coupling ring and the plug contact carrier is provided with a connecting section for a complementary plug connector.
