A sampling port () has a generally cylindrical first portion (), a generally cylindrical second portion () with a smaller diameter than the first portion () and a guide member () that rotates about a hinge () to extend into the second portion () to reduce the effective diameter of the second portion (). The guide member () and/or the second and/or first portions () are shaped so that the guide member can extend further into the sampling port () than a simple cylindrical guide member rotating into simple cylindrical first and second portions.

Sampling port

A medical tray () is adapted to receive a medical instrument () and has one or more longitudinally extending instrument receiving recesses () adapted to receive at least a part of the medical instrument (), one or more instrument support members () and at least one instrument access opening, slot or recess () at a longitudinal end of a peripheral wall, whereby the instrument () may be located longitudinally in the tray () with at least part () of the instrument supported on one or more instrument support members (), another part () may extend out of the tray via the instrument access opening () with a cutting edge or point of the medical instrument located in at least one instrument receiving recess ().

Sharps passing tray

A collapsible quiver () has an outer tube () and an inner tube (). When extended the inner end () of the inner tube () engages the inner surface of the outer tube () so there is substantially no discontinuity of the inner surface defined by the first and second tubular members.

Medical quiver

A tube segment sampler system () for withdrawing a fluid sample from a tube segment (), the sampler () having a first tube piercing member () for piercing the tube segment at a first location and a second tube piercing member () for piercing the tube segment at a second location so as to allow air to be drawn into the tube segment () through one of the openings made by one of the piercing members () while fluid is withdrawn through the other of the openings.

Segment sampler

A sampling port () has a body () having an space () open at one end () and adapted to receive a sampling vial () with an cannula () extending longitudinally along the space () with a pointed end () facing the open end (), whereby a sampling vial passed into the space from the open end may be impaled on the cannula. The port includes at least one guide member () extending into the space () to reduce the effective size of part of the space (), the at least one guide member () guiding a vial () of a first size when inserted into the open end () and the at least one guide member () being movable to allow a vial () of a size larger than the first size to be inserted into the space.

A sample tube holder () having a generally flat elongate flexible body () and one or more of sets of non circular apertures () each having a length dimension and a width dimension perpendicular to the length dimension, in the body, each set having two or more apertures () arranged in a line such that each set of apertures defines at least one inner portion () between adjacent apertures () of the set and at least one outer portion () adjacent each aperture at the end of the line extending away from the respective inner portion.

Test tube management device

A tube clamp having first and second opposed jaws () joined by a hinge (), the jaws () movable between open and closed positions, the tube clamp adapted to attach to a flexible plastic tube () so that the tube () passes between the jaws (), whereby the flow of fluid through the tube () is permitted when the jaws are open but is blocked when the jaws are brought together to the closed position to pinch closed the tube there-between, and locking means () to effect substantially permanent and irreversible locking of the jaws () in the closed position.
