The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising: a. poly(butylene terephthalate); b. glass fibres; and c. 1.5-10.0 wt % polyethylene with regard to the total weight of the polymer composition. Such polymer composition provides a desired combination of properties to enable the use in the production of thin-walled connectors, in that such polymer composition has a desirably high heat deflection temperature, good melt flow properties, high Charpy impact strength and high tensile strain at break.

Polymer composition comprising poly(butylene terephthalate)

A composition that contains from 30 to 95 wt. %, based on the total weight of the composition, of a thermoplastic component and an effective amount of a flow-enhancing component. The effective amount of the flow-enhancing component reduces the viscosity of the composition by at least 10% compared to the viscosity of a composition comprising the thermoplastic component, but not an effective amount of the flow-enhancing component. The thermoplastic component is selected from the group consisting of polycarbonates, polyesters, and combinations thereof. The flow-enhancing component comprises b1) a component selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metalloid oxides, metal alkoxides, metalloid alkoxides, and combinations thereof and b2) a mineral filler component. The weight ratio of component b1) to component b2) ranges from 1:25 to 25:1. A method for enhancing the flow of compositions comprising thermoplastic components is also disclosed.

A resin composition having laser marking properties with the CO.sub.2 laser with radiation at 10600 nm comprises a polyester thermoplastic resin, a sufficient amount of dark pigment for forming a dark background coloration, a mica material for absorbing said laser radiation, and an effective amount of a hydrated metal phosphate containing water of crystallization wherein said metal phosphate decomposes in laser struck areas to release said hydrated water whereby light colored markings in laser struck areas are obtained on said dark background coloration.
