Embodiments of a flow limiting duct vent valve (DVV) are provided, as are embodiments of a bleed air system including a flow limiting DVV. In one embodiment, the bleed air system a flow limiting DVV and a first valved device, such as a high pressure regulator. The DVV includes, in turn, a housing assembly having an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly coupled to the valved device when the bleed air system is installed on a gas turbine engine. A valve element is mounted in the housing assembly and, during operation of the DVV, moves from: (i) the closed position to an open vent position when the pressure differential across the valve element exceeds a first threshold, and (ii) from the open vent position to an overpressure shutoff position when the pressure differential across the valve element exceeds a second threshold greater than the first threshold.

Flow limiting duct vent valves and gas turbine engine bleed air systems including the same

Embodiments of a combination bearing are provided, as are embodiments of a valve assembly including a combination bearing. In one embodiment, the valve assembly includes a flowbody having a flow passage therethrough, a drive shaft rotatably mounted within the flowbody, a valve element mounted to the drive shaft and positioned within the flow passage, and a combination bearing coupled between the flowbody and the drive shaft. The combination bearing comprises an integral radial load/thrust ring coupled to the drive shaft, and a thrust washer substantially adjacent the integral radial load/thrust ring, as taken along the longitudinal axis of the combination bearing. An outer radial ring circumscribes the integral thrust/radial load ring. A first plurality of rolling elements is captured between the thrust washer and the integral radial load/thrust ring, and a second plurality of rolling elements is captured between the outer radial ring and the integral radial load/thrust ring.

Combination bearings having improved load capacities and lifespan and valve assemblies including the same

A joining means for thermally insulating and electrically coupling a first component and a second component at an interface. The joining means including a joining bolt, at least one thermally insulating spacer, and an electrically conductive bracket. The at least one thermally insulating spacer including an opening formed therein and positioned between the first component and the second component to provide thermal insulation between the first component and the second component. The electrically conductive bracket including a first end coupled to the joining bolt between the first component and the at least one spacer and a second end coupled to the joining bolt between the second component and the at least one spacer. The electrically conductive bracket establishing an electrical circuit between the first component and the second component.

Joining means for device components

A thrust reverser system drive shaft assembly is provided that includes a first shaft and a barrel. The first shaft has an end section and comprises an age-hardenable martinsitic steel alloy material having fracture toughness, stress corrosion cracking resistance, and a tensile strength of at least about 285 ksi during an impact rotational speed of at least about 14,000 rpm. The barrel has a first end, a second end, and a channel formed therethrough. The first end has the first shaft end section disposed therein. The barrel comprises steel alloy material that is different than the first shaft material, has an elongation of at least about 12% in a hardened condition, and is compatible to be welded to the first shaft material.
