A method comprising segmenting at least one vertebral body from at least one image of a first three-dimensional image data set. The method comprises receiving at least one image of a second three-dimensional image data set. The method comprises registering the segmented at least one vertebral body from the at least one image of the first three-dimensional image data set with the at least one image of the second three-dimensional image data set. The method comprises determining a position of the at least one surgical implant based on the at least one image of the second three-dimensional image data set and a three-dimensional geometric model of the at least one surgical implant. The method comprises overlaying a virtual representation of the at least one surgical implant on the registered and segmented at least one vertebral body from the at least one image of the first three-dimensional image data set.

A system includes a surgical cart that includes a local client access point, a monitor, a cart computer, a first external interface coupled to the local client access point, and a second external interface coupled to the primary monitor. The surgical cart can host a web server to which one or more client devices can connect using a web browser. The web server can provide access to one or more surgical applications hosted by the surgical cart during a surgery.

Power is conserved by not clocking the modem computer systemand the shared memory-during times when modem functions are not needed. The shared memory modules-are loaded with a binary memory image for use by the modem computer subsystemfrom a memoryunder control of the general computing subsystem. When needed, the modem computing subsystemis activated to monitor a paging channel, and disabled when it is no longer desired to monitor the paging channel. Additionally, a second shared memorymay be activated and used only when the modem computing systemneeds to manage a traffic channel.
