Eyewear is disclosed that can have multiple ventilation states providing different amounts of ventilation through the eyewear. The eyewear can include a lens and a frame. In some embodiments, the lens can be movable with respect to the frame to provide the multiple ventilation states. In some embodiments, the eyewear can include a gasket that removably attaches to the frame. In some embodiments, the gasket can be movable with respect to the frame to provide the multiple ventilation states.

Eyewear having multiple ventilation states

Multi-axis quick-release gimbal hinges that releasably attach a face protector to a helmet. The hinges allow the face protection to be easily and quickly released from the as-worn position to a position hanging from the other side of the helmet&#x2014;even if the user has only a single hand free to release the face protector, and further to be fully detached from the helmet if desired. The present multi-axis quick-release gimbal comprise at least two degrees of freedom due to two gimbal hinges and also facilitate re-attachment compared to former systems, for example because the dual-gimbal hinge configuration holds the face protector in a particularly easy-access positions and/or by providing a rotational stop.

Head and face protection systems

Devices, systems, and methods, etc., that provide, in certain aspects, a two-point, adjustable, partially pliable, and releasable tensioning suspension that supports an anti-blunt-force frame connected to a protective helmet. The protective devices herein can be, for example, 'sport-level' and 'military/law enforcement-level.' The anti-blunt-force frame is positioned and balanced on the wearer's face by an impact absorbing face padding system, including a chin strap, cup or pad comprised of an impact protection material. Thus, in one aspect, the present devices, systems, methods, etc., include an adjustable facial protection system for a human comprising a crescent-shaped face protection element configured to withstand blunt force impact and a ballistic material element to prevent the penetration of ballistic and fragmentation projectiles at various force levels to meet different ballistic hazards. The systems can also include a protective helmet.

Adjustable facial protection systems

A non-fogging goggles includes a double lens that consists of a pair of two spaced-apart lenses that have an air interstice therebetween and in which the inner surface of the outer lens is coated with a metal film. The metal coating is preferably made of gold and is vacuum-deposited on the outer lens. The body heat radiated by the user is reflected on the metal film and reduces the temperature differential between the inner lens and the area enclosed by the goggles, thereby preventing fogging of the inner lens. The radiated heat will also contribute in maintaining the temperature of the lens of any corrective eyeglasses worn under the goggles.

Non-fogging goggles

A mechanism forming the hinges between an eyeglass frame and the lateral temple bars which allows for the rapid adjustment of the vertical alignment of the lens frame in relation to the horizontal axes of the temple pieces. The forward end of each temple piece is split into a stationary half and a sliding half. Each half terminates into a pin or ball which cooperates with a bearing at the edge of the lens frame to form a hinge allowing each temple piece to be folded against the frame. The sliding halves can be moved along the axes of the temple pieces independently from the stationary ones to tilt the hinging axis so as to change the position of the lens plane in relation to the temple pieces.

Vertical plane adjusting mechanism for eyeglasses

A detachable visor for a motorcycle helmet having a top wall with laterally spaced side wall members that extend downwardly from the lateral edges of the top wall. A laterally extending recess portion is formed in the top wall intermediate its front edge and its rear edge. The recess portion has a downwardly extending rear wall and a pair of laterally spaced downwardly extending side walls. A plurality of snap fasteners have their female portions attached to the rear surface of the rear wall and they are laterally spaced apart from each other so that they mate with the male portion of the snap fasteners that are secured to the outer surface of the forehead portion of a motorcycle helmet. A top wall cover panel is detachably secured to the side walls in the recess portion to form an aerodynamically smooth top wall surface on the detachable visor. An air flow deflector panel extends between the side wall members of the visor and functions to direct air into the interior of the helmet. A female fastener portion is integrally formed on the inner surface of each the side wall members and these mate with a male portion of a detachable fastener which is secured to the side of the motorcycle helmet.
