A magnetometer system structured to measure a magnetic field. The device may comprise a housing with shock absorbers disposed within and a laser cavity network disposed within the housing. The laser cavity network may comprise one or more laser cavity arms, each having a gain chip configured to generate a laser beam and a means for locking a wavelength of the laser beam. The laser cavity network may further comprise a nitrogen-vacancy (NV) diamond disposed within the laser cavity network, configured to accept the one or more laser beams of the one or more laser cavity arms and measure the magnetic field in response to the plurality of laser beams. The system may further comprise a power and control subsystem communicatively connected to the laser cavity network such that the power and control subsystem is external to the housing.

Stabilization of laser-based sensors

The present invention describes a laser system for eliminating astigmatism to produce an elliptical laser beam that has an ellipticity between about 0.9 to 1.0. The laser system described herein allows for increased conversion efficiency and output powers. on-linear optical elements in the laser system eliminate astigmatism. The laser system comprises one or more cavities with wavelength splitters that act as dual-mirror chambers for single-pass light transmission through the non-linear optical elements to reduce cavity size or as beam splitters for double-pass light transmission through the non-linear optical elements to increase laser output power. The laser system may also include a birefringent filter and/or etalon in the first cavity for polarization and wavelength tuning. The laser system may also generate a high-power, deep-ultraviolet laser output. The laser system may also be devoid of curved mirrors and non-normal incidence reflection to eliminate astigmatism.

Laser system for harmonic generation without intracavity astigmatism

A magnetometer device structured to measure a magnetic field while minimizing an effect of vibration on output. The device may comprise a laser cavity network containing a plurality of spatially-distinct cavity arms, each comprising a gain chip configured to generate a laser beam towards one or more optical elements disposed optically in line with the laser beam, configured to direct the laser beam towards a nitrogen vacancy (NV) diamond. The device may further comprise the NV diamond, configured to accept a plurality of laser beams of the plurality of cavity arms without a common output coupler, preventing the plurality of laser beams from spatially overlapping, and measure the magnetic field in response to the plurality of laser beams. The device may further comprise a reflective element for reflecting each laser beam back into each cavity arm.

Magnetometer device

An electrical pumping vertical external-cavity surface-emitting laser (EP-VECSEL) device. The device may comprise a bottom contact, a first distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) disposed on the bottom contact, and an active region comprising a plurality of emitters, disposed on the first DBR configured to accept an electrical current at multiple emitters on the active region such that the multiple emitters produce a plurality of lasers. The multiple emitters may be configured to form a desired Hermite Gaussian (HG) mode shape. The device may further comprise a second DBR disposed on the active region and a top contact disposed on the second DBR. The top contact may be shaped such that the plurality of lasers are directed through the top contact. The device may further comprise an array output coupler disposed optically in line with the top contact such that the plurality of lasers are directed into the array output coupler.

Electric Pumping Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (EP-VECSEL) array

A magnetometer system structured to measure a magnetic field. The device may comprise a housing with shock absorbers disposed within and a laser cavity network disposed within the housing. The laser cavity network may comprise one or more laser cavity arms, each having a gain chip configured to generate a laser beam and a means for locking a wavelength of the laser beam. The laser cavity network may further comprise a nitrogen-vacancy (NV) diamond disposed within the laser cavity network, configured to accept the one or more laser beams of the one or more laser cavity arms and measure the magnetic field in response to the plurality of laser beams. The system may further comprise a supply and control subsystem communicatively connected to the laser cavity network such that the supply and control subsystem is external to the housing, comprising a laser pumping source.

A collinear T-cavity VECSEL system generating intracavity Hermite-Gaussian modes at multiple wavelengths, configured to vary each of these wavelengths individually and independently. A mode converter element and/or an astigmatic mode converter is/are aligned intracavity to reversibly convert the Gaussian modes to HG modes to Laguerre-Gaussian modes, the latter forming the system output having any of the wavelengths provided by the spectrum resulting from nonlinear frequency-mixing intracavity (including generation of UV, visible, mid-IR light). The laser system delivers Watt-level output power in tunable high-order transverse mode distribution.

Generation of high-power spatially-restructurable spectrally-tunable beams in a multi-arm-cavity VECSEL-based laser system

A vertical external cavity surface emitting laser (VECSEL) based system in a linear single cavity configuration is configured to deliver light in higher-order Hermite-Gaussian transverse modes with Watt-level output power. Simultaneous and independent lasing of spatially-restructurable multiple high-order transverse modes that are collinearly-propagating at the output of such laser cavity is facilitated with the use of an optical pumping scheme devised to control positions of location at which the gain medium of the system is pumped (e.g., locations of focal spots of multiple pump beams on the gain-medium chip). An external astigmatic mode converter is utilized to convert such high-order Hermite-Gaussian modes into corresponding Laguerre-Gaussian modes.

Efficient generation of spatially-restructurable high-order HG-modes in a laser cavity

Generation of high-power spatially-restructurable spectrally-tunable beams in a multi-arm-cavity vecsel-based laser system

A laser device capable to simultaneously generate light at multiple wavelengths that are independently (and, optionally, simultaneously) tunable without a limit of how small a spectral separation between such wavelengths can be made is enabled with the use of a laser-cavity network that (i) contains multiple spatially-distinct laser cavity portions all of which have at least one spatial region of the cavity network in common and (ii) is defined by such optical elements that prevent the intracavity amplification of light at first and second of multiple wavelengths at the expense of the same laser gain medium. Each of the distinct cavity portions contains a dedicated laser chip supporting the generation of light at a corresponding wavelength. In a special case, at least two of the multiple lasing wavelengths in the output of the device can be simultaneously and independently tuned to become equal.
