A method of assembling a lancet housing assembly comprising multiple lancets for use in a portable handheld medical diagnostic device for sampling bodily fluids from a skin site of a patient is disclosed. The method includes forming a plurality of lancet structures in a lancet sheet. The lancet sheet has a removable ledge for releasing the lancet structures. The removable ledge of the lancet sheet is flexed for releasing the lancet structures from the removable ledge.

Methods and structures for assembling lancet housing assemblies for handheld medical diagnostic devices

A method of controlling lancing speed of a lancing structure of a portable handheld medical diagnostic device includes providing an elongated lancet structure having a skin piercing end and a blood transport portion adjacent the skin piercing end. The skin piercing end when displaced makes an incision at a skin site to produce an amount of bodily fluid from the skin site and in which the blood transport portion transports the amount of bodily fluid away from the skin site for use by a measurement system in making a physiological measurement. A spring-driven motor assembly is operatively connected to the lancet structure. The spring-driven motor assembly displaces the lancet structure toward the skin site to make the incision for producing the amount of bodily fluid and retracts the lancet structure to carry the amount of bodily fluid away from the skin cite. A speed control mechanism is engaged with the spring-driven motor assembly as the spring-driven motor assembly retracts the lancet structure thereby decelerating the lancet structure as the lancet structure is retracted away from the skin site.

Handheld medical diagnostic devices with lancing speed control

A headphone includes a pair of right and left headphone units, a resilient band formed substantially into a U shape to be mounted on a human head, and a pair of arm members. Each of the arm members is rotatably coupled via a pivot joint to an end part of the band and supporting one the headphone units. Each of the pivot joints includes a detent hinge for locking into a plurality of rotational positions an arm member relatively to the corresponding end part of the band.

A headphone assembly is provided and includes a headband assembly comprising at least one end; an ear-cup assembly pivotably engaged to the headband assembly by an engagement structure positioned proximate to the at least one end of the headband assembly, the ear-cup assembly comprising a cap and a housing, wherein the cap and the housing are connected to form an enclosed space inside the ear-cup assembly; a transducer configured to produce sound and positioned within the enclosed space of the ear-cup assembly; and a damper rim positioned between the ear-cup assembly and the at least one end of the headband assembly, the damper rim covering the engagement structure and being engaged to the ear-cup assembly and the at least one end of the headband assembly.
