Method of generating configurations of computing products, including receiving images of a particular layout of the computing product; analyzing the particular layout, including identifying computing components of the computing product and determining a thermal mapping of the computing product; identifying physical constraints associated with the computing components of the computing product; identifying product profile of the computing product that indicates, for each computing component, features of the computing component; iteratively permutating, based on the physical constraints associated with the computing components and the thermal mapping, the particular layout to define permutated layouts; iteratively permutating each of the permutated layouts based on combinations of features of each of the computing components of the particular layout; generating, for the computing component, data table indicating each of the permutated layouts of the computing product and each of the combinations of features of each of the computing components of each of the permutated layouts.

A system for protecting a hard disc drive (HDD) from acoustic energy in a chassis comprises a set of foam strips formed from acoustically absorptive material. Each foam strip has a thickness such that, when the HDD is installed in a chassis, the acoustically absorptive material is in a substantially uncompressed state. Foam strips are separated by an airflow path width, wherein two foam strips, a first surface of an HDD and a second surface form an airflow path. The second surface may be a surface of an adjacent HDD or a wall of the chassis. Each foam strip has a width and length configured for absorbing acoustic energy that would otherwise propagate through the airflow path.

System and method for reducing acoustic energy near HDD systems

In one or more embodiments, an information handling system may include an information indication assembly. For example, the information indication assembly may include at least one light emitter; multiple conductors coupled to the at least one light emitter; a pin that includes a rigid material and that permits the first plurality of conductors to pass through; and a grommet that includes an elastic material and configured to house the pin. In one instance, the pin and the grommet may be aligned along a longitudinal axis of the information indication assembly. In a second instance the pin and the grommet form a fastener of a fan associated with the information handling system. In another instance, the elastic material may mitigate vibrations from the fan. In one or more embodiments, a printed circuit board may include the multiple conductors. For example, the printed circuit board may be a flexible printed circuit board.

An information handling system may include a backplane configured to couple at a first side thereof to a plurality of physical storage resources, an air mover configured to provide cooling to the information handling system, and a shelf coupled to the backplane at a second, opposite side thereof, wherein the shelf is disposed between the first side of the backplane and the air mover. The shelf may include an acoustically absorbent material.

Embodiments may be generally directed to a system for generating reactive acoustic energy for reducing acoustic noise in a chassis of an information handling system. A set of acoustically reactive elements may be positioned relative to a backplane comprising a plurality of backplane openings. Each acoustically reactive element comprises a plurality of walls and an acoustical energy reducing opening. The plurality of walls define an internal volume, wherein at least one wall is aligned parallel with a direction of airflow. The acoustical energy reducing opening may be oriented substantially parallel with the direction of the airflow and configured for the airflow passing the acoustically reactive element to pass the acoustical energy reducing opening to generate acoustic energy at a frequency based on the set of parameters of the acoustically reactive element.

A computing chassis, including hard disk drives positioned at a first end of the chassis; a fan module positioned at a second end of the chassis; a first baffle having acoustic absorbing material, the first baffle extending between a first and a second side of the chassis, wherein the first and second sides of the chassis extend between the first and the second ends of the chassis, the first baffle spaced-apart from the fan module a first distance; a second baffle having acoustic absorbing material, the second baffle extending between the first and the second side of the chassis, the second baffle spaced-apart from the fan module a second distance greater than the first distance, wherein the first and the second baffle extend between the first and second sides of the chassis perpendicular to an airflow, and the acoustic absorbing material of the baffles attenuate acoustic waves.

In one or more embodiments, one or more systems, one or more methods, and/or one or more processes may: determine a first value associated with vibrations within an information handling system (IHS); determine that the first value meets or exceeds a first threshold value; after determining that the first value meets or exceeds the first threshold value: receive first data to store via at least one hard disk drive; and store the first data via at least one solid state memory medium; determine a second value associated with vibrations within the IHS; determine that the second value does not meet or exceed the first threshold value; and in response to determining that the second value does not meet or exceed the first threshold value: retrieve the first data from the at least one solid state memory medium; and store the first data via the at least one hard disk drive.

System and method of storing data

Embodiments may be directed to a codesigned shroud for a chassis comprising a plurality of components and a plurality of fans generating a plurality of airflows to cool the plurality of components. The codesigned shroud may have a plurality of walls defining a plurality of channels, wherein at least two walls of the plurality of walls define each channel of the plurality of channels. Each channel may be aligned with a direction of an airflow of the plurality of airflows. At least one channel includes a set of baffles oriented substantially perpendicular to the direction of an airflow in the channel. Each baffle may be formed with acoustically absorbent material to absorb acoustic energy that could affect performance of a component, wherein a first baffle of the set of baffles is offset from a second baffle of the set of baffles.

In one embodiment, a method for decreasing a humidity level in an information handling system includes: receiving, by a sound field chamber, an incoming airflow, the incoming airflow having a humidity level corresponding to an amount of water vapor in the incoming airflow; identifying, by a humidity controller, the humidity level of the incoming airflow; determining, by the humidity controller, that the humidity level is greater than a threshold humidity level; and in response to determining that the humidity level is greater than the threshold humidity level: causing, by the humidity controller, a sound source of the information handling system to generate a sound field within the sound field chamber, the sound field comprised of sound waves, the sound waves causing an acoustic agglomeration of the water vapor, the acoustic agglomeration causing the humidity level to decrease.

Decreasing a humidity level in an information handling system

An information handling system includes multiple hard disk drives, a central processing unit (CPU) and memory complex, a graphics processing unit (GPU) and input/output (I/O) complex, multiple cooling fans, and first and second airflow vanes. The cooling fans pull in airflow through the hard disk drives and push the airflow through both the CPU and memory complex and the GPU and I/O complex. The first and second airflow vanes are located between the hard disk drives and the cooling fans. The first and second vanes are in a first configuration when the information handling system is in a CPU and memory centric configuration, and in a second configuration when the information handling system is in a GPU and I/O centric configuration.

A cooling system for cooling a set of components in a compute module and an array of storage devices in a storage module, the array of storage devices comprising rows and columns. The storage module is wider than the compute module to accommodate a larger backplane. The backplane has large vertical vent openings for accommodating connectors of storage devices connecting to the backplane. Pairs of divider walls positioned between adjacent columns of storage devices form large channels for increased airflow between columns of storage devices and reduced airflow between adjacent rows of storage devices. The design allows for increased cooling performance and reduced acoustic energy (noise).

An information handling system includes a baseboard management controller (BMC) and a cooling module that receives a control signal from the BMC. The cooling module includes an air mover assembly, and a foam gasket that is disposed in between the air mover assembly and the bulkhead. A cam assembly has a cam lever holder that draws in a compression bracket to provide axial stress to the air mover assembly, a bulkhead, and the foam gasket.

Apparatus and method for sealing air movers in an information handling system

An air-cooled enclosure of an information handling system includes a chassis that receives at least one heat-generating functional component. One or more air movers are positioned within the chassis to move cooling air through the chassis. An air duct is provided within the chassis and is positioned to direct the cooling air between the one or more air movers and the at least one heat-generating functional component. The air duct has a transverse space across the air duct sized for one or more acoustic standing waves to resonate between lateral walls of the air duct as modes of a resonant wavelength. One or more vertical blocks of an acoustic absorbing material are attached inside the air duct at respective transverse positions of one or more pressure or velocity antinodes of a selected one or more modes of the resonant wavelength.

Reducing aeroacoustics caused by cooling air flow with segmented foam baffles in an information handling system

A component control system includes a component. At least one component element is included in the component. A component controller is included in the component, coupled to the at least one component element, and operable to couple to an Information Handling System (IHS) controller. The component controller is operable to receive a normalized component performance (NCP) value from the IHS controller. The NCP value is associated with at least one component output range. The component controller is also operable to provide a control signal that is associated with the NCP value to the at least one component element. In response to receiving the control signal, the at least one component element operates such that the component produces at least one component output, and each component output produced by the component is within a corresponding component output range.
