A method and apparatus for generating an array layout template. In one embodiment the method comprises scanning, using an installation application on a mobile device comprising at least one processor, a tag coupled to a splice box that is coupled to a trunk cable in a solar installation; and generating, via the installation application and based on information obtained by scanning the tag, a template that shows a physical layout of the splice box and a plurality of solar array components that are coupled to the trunk cable.

Method and apparatus for managing installation information

A method and apparatus for visualization of power generated by a plurality of distributed generator (DG) components. In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving power information representing an amount of power generated by each DG component in the plurality of DG components; displaying a two-dimensional image showing an image representation of each DG component in the plurality of DG components; associating a color with each image representation; and varying at least one characteristic of the color associated with each image representation in accordance with the amount of power generated by the DG component that is represented by the image representation.

The method establishes a power visualization scale based on a color saturation and intensity range for a hue and a range of power to be visualized, and generates a display image for at least one measured value of power as a level of color saturation and intensity for the hue based on the power visualization scale.

In one embodiment the method comprises obtaining, via an installation application on a mobile device comprising at least one processor, identification information for at least one component of an installation; obtaining, via the installation application, position information for the at least one component; and generating, via the installation application, a template for indicating a physical layout of at least a portion of the installation based on the identification information and the position information.
