A method, system, and computer program product is provided for assisting a driver of the vehicle or providing guidance based on one or more geo-fences. The method comprises displaying one or more geo-fences super-imposed on a map display for a vehicle, wherein the one or more geo-fences comprises a tolerance zone; identifying a driving maneuver profile for the vehicle associated with the one or more geo-fences, and displaying the driving maneuver profile on the map display, wherein displaying the driving maneuver profile comprises: displaying a distance of the vehicle from the tolerance zone, and displaying a prohibited maneuver for the vehicle based on the one or more geo-fences and the distance of the vehicle from the tolerance zone.

Method and system for providing assistance to a vehicle or driver thereof

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided, for example, to detect and to provide alerting of a part of a vehicle subsequently moving into the path of travel of a bicyclist or other vehicle. In the context of a method, one or more events indicative of a part of a vehicle subsequently moving into a path of a bicyclist are detected. The method also includes taking an action, responsive to detection of the one or more events, to reduce the risk to a person outside the vehicle or another vehicle proximate the door of the vehicle, such as by providing an alert as to the vehicle subsequently moving into the path of the bicyclist or to at least temporarily prevent the vehicle from subsequently moving into the path of the bicyclist.

Method and apparatus for taking an action based upon movement of a part of a vehicle into a path of travel

A network apparatus receives a language request provided by a requesting user apparatus. The network apparatus generates and provides poll requests to responding user apparatuses and receives poll responses from the responding user apparatuses. Each poll response is associated with a language and indicates a current location of the corresponding responding user apparatus. Based on the poll responses, the network apparatus identifies areas or points of interest (POIs) that have a density of poll responses that (a) indicate a current location that corresponds to the area and/or POI and (b) is associated with a particular language. The network apparatus generates and provides a request response comprising information identifying at least one density area and/or POI. The requesting user apparatus receives the request response and provides information regarding the at least one density area and/or POI via an interactive user interface.

Navigation devices, systems, and methods for transmitting notifications to and/or receiving notifications from electronic devices associated with passengers of connectable vehicles are described herein. In one example, a method is provided for sending a notification regarding a planned detachment of a designated vehicle from a plurality of connected vehicles. The method includes receiving a navigation destination for a passenger of an initial vehicle, calculating a detachment time or detachment location of the designated vehicle from the plurality of connected vehicles based on the received navigation destination, and transmitting a personalized notification to an electronic device associated with the passenger regarding the detachment time or detachment location of the designated vehicle from the plurality of connected vehicles.

Notifications involved with attaching or detaching connectable vehicles

Systems, methods, and apparatuses are described for communicating the occurrence of incident near misses between vehicles. In one embodiment, for example, a controller receives sensor data related to an operation of a vehicle. The sensor data is analyzed to determine whether a near collision has occurred with respect to the vehicle. A warning message is generated and transmitted in response to the determination that a near collision occurred.
