A mixer for a vehicle exhaust gas system, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a mixer housing defining an internal cavity and a venturi section including integrally formed mixing vanes and positioned within the internal cavity. The venturi section comprises a first portion and a second portion that are combined to provide a mixing chamber therebetween. A doser mount opening is formed within the mixer housing that is open to the mixing chamber.

An exhaust system includes a first aftertreatment substrate configured to receive exhaust gases from an engine and a second aftertreatment substrate downstream of the first aftertreatment substrate, wherein the first aftertreatment substrate is smaller than the second aftertreatment substrate. A bypass valve is configured to direct exhaust gas through the first aftertreatment substrate prior to entering the second aftertreatment substrate when an exhaust gas temperature is below a predetermined temperature and is configured to allow exhaust gas to bypass the first aftertreatment substrate and enter the second aftertreatment substrate when the exhaust gas temperature is above the predetermined temperature.

A mixer assembly for a vehicle exhaust system includes a housing having an inlet portion and an outlet portion that are connected to each other with a channel portion. An inlet baffle is positioned at the inlet portion and an outlet baffle is positioned at the outlet portion. The inlet and outlet baffles are non-concentric. An injector housing is attached to the housing downstream of the inlet baffle and a spray guide is mounted within the injector housing. The spray guide has a spray inlet and a spray outlet that directs spray into the channel portion.

A mixer assembly for a vehicle exhaust system includes a mixer having an upstream end and a downstream end. The mixer defines an internal cavity within which exhaust gases are mixed. A mixer inlet body has an enclosed end and an open end that attaches to the upstream end of the mixer. The mixer inlet body includes an outer peripheral surface extending from the enclosed end to the open end to surround a center axis. The outer peripheral surface includes an inlet port and the enclosed end includes a helically formed portion that initiates a swirling motion to the exhaust gases exiting the inlet port.

The mixer includes an outer housing that is configured to direct a mixture of the reducing agent and the engine exhaust gases into the second exhaust component.
