An embossing device, such as a cylinder or a sleeve, includes on an outer peripheral surface an embossing raised and recessed pattern, to be reproduced on a deformable planar substrate. The cylinder or sleeve bears a photopolymer coating the outer surface which has the raised embossing pattern.

The invention relates to a method of producing a relief image arrangement, usable especially in the fields of flexography, embossing and heliogravure, and comprising a base layer and a layer of photosensitive material fixed on the base layer. The method is of the type according to which an image is produced on the photosensitive layer by causing selective curing by irradiating the zones that are to be in relief with light of a predetermined wavelength. The method is characterized in that the image is produced in the form of a set of points to which a substantially pyramidal shape is given, widening out in the direction of the base layer (). The invention is usable for producing relief images, in the field of flexography.

The invention concerns a printing blanket for a cylinder of a printing machine, specifically of offset type, including a ground or polished or even molded lithographic layer, at least one reinforcing layer and at least one compressible layer. According to the invention, at least one surface property of the invention, namely the overall surface energy of the blanket, the surface energy with a polar character of the blanket or the average roughness of the blanket varies on the outer surface of the blanket crosswise. The invention is applicable for any indirect printing process, especially offset printing as function.
