A communication connector is provided which can selectively provide compensation to the electrical circuits thereof. The communication connector includes a housing, a circuit board arrangement, contacts and a switchable device. The circuit board arrangement is disposed in the housing and includes electrical circuits and contact pads electrically connected to each other; the contacts is disposed at the circuit board arrangement and electrically connected to the electrical circuits respectively; the switchable device is movable in relative to the circuit board arrangement and has a compensation circuit board and switching contacts electrically connected to each other. The switchable device can be selectively moved to a predetermined position to enable the switching contacts to make contact with the contact pads respectively and enable the compensation circuit board to electrically connect to the electrical circuits.

Communication connector

A wire termination and cutting tool, RJ jack and RJ jack and tool termination system is provided with the tool having a cutting module support portion and an RJ jack support portion connected to the cutting module support portion for relative movement with respect to a pivot point. An RJ jack is connected to the RJ jack support portion. The RJ jack includes wire termination locations each with an insulation displacement contact (IDC) with a cutting/clamping slot. A cutting module is connected to the cutting module support portion. The cutting module includes cutting blades for cutting wires and wire insertion parts. An actuator applies force for in curved relative movement of the cutting module support portion with respect to the RJ jack support portion. The cutting module support portion is aligned with the RJ jack at an end of the curved relative movement whereby the wire insertion parts are aligned with slots of corresponding insulation displacement contacts of the RJ jack.

Wire termination tool and RJ jack for use therewith

A patch panel assembly and a patching module thereof are described. The patch panel assembly includes an outer frame and more than one patching module disposed on the outer frame. The patching module includes a registered jack (RJ) component and an insulation displacement contact (IDC) component which can be combined correspondingly, so that a plurality of RJ jacks and a plurality of IDC pins are electrically connected and assembled on the outer frame. The IDC component can further match two specifications of punch down tools to perform compression and wire bonding.

Patch panel assembly and patching module thereof

A patch panel assembly is provided including an angle module having one or more RJ modules, one or more insulation displacement contact (IDC) modules and a printed circuit board. Each of the RJ modules includes a base, an RJ plug receiving opening and spring contacts extending from the base into the RJ plug receiving opening. The IDC modules each include an IDC housing with an IDC module base and insulation displacement contacts (IDCs) with IDC contact pins extending from the IDC module base. The printed circuit board has RJ contact holes receiving the spring contacts with the RJ module mounted to the printed circuit board and has IDC contact holes receiving the IDC contact pins with the IDC module mounted to the printed circuit board as well as circuit traces connecting the RJ contact holes to the IDC contact holes. The plug receiving openings each have a plug insertion opening at an angle to the printed circuit board between to 0&#xb0; and not equal to 90&#xb0;. A front panel is provided including a front face with a plurality of RJ module openings. The angle module is connected to the frame with the one or more RJ modules extending through RJ module openings and with each the plug insertion opening at an angle to the front face between 0&#xb0; and 90&#xb0;.

Patch panel assembly

An insulation displacement contact (IDC) is provided for use in a connector housing having an IDC receiving passage with insertion region first side edge and insertion region second side edge defining lower stops and upper locking catches. The IDC includes a base portion with a first IDC arm extending from the base portion and a second IDC arm extending from the base portion. The arms each have a lower portion with reduced dimension, a wire cutting/clamping region with an inner surface for insulated wire cutting and clamping, and an upper portion defining a region for introducing wires for termination. The IDC arms are flexible with respect to the base portion whereby the wire cutting/clamping regions cooperate for cutting and clamping insulated wires. The IDC has a first upper locator at an exterior surface of the first IDC arm, a second upper locator at an exterior surface of the first IDC arm, a second lower locator at an exterior surface of the IDC; and a second lower locator at an exterior surface of the IDC. The first lower locator and the second lower locator contact lower stops with the first upper locator engaging a first side upper locking catch and the second upper locator engaging a second side upper locking catch upon inserting the IDC into the IDC receiving passage.

Insulation displacement contact (IDC) and IDC mounting system

A communication is jack adapted to connect a cable that has an exposed ground wire mesh. The communication jack includes a first member, a second member, and a clamping component. The second member and the first member are capable of pivotally rotating relatively to be combined to form a clamping area. The cable is gripped by the clamping component and the second member in the clamping area, and the clamping component and the second member keep in contact with the ground wire mesh of the cable. Thus, the cable is fixed and grounded by simply combining the first and second members.

Communication jack

A communication jack structure is adapted for the configuration of a plurality of wires. The communication jack structure includes a base and a terminal pressing member. The base has two rows of piercing terminals, and the terminal pressing member has plural rows of pressing slots corresponding to the piercing terminals respectively. Each pressing slot has an inclined wire leading portion at the opening. The wire leading portion is used for leading the wire from the opening to the bottom of the pressing slot, so as to enhance the efficiency of assembling the wire and the terminal pressing member.

Communication jack structure

A socket with integrated insulation displacement connection terminals is provided, which includes a base, a terminal pusher, a first pressing element, and a second pressing element. The base has two rows of insulation displacement connection terminals engaged in one side thereof. The terminal pusher has two rows of receiving holes corresponding to each of the IDC terminals, for a plurality of wires bridging across one of holes respectively. The first pressing element is pivoted to the base to be rotated to press the terminal pusher through first pressing portions, such that each IDC terminal is inserted into each receiving hole and each wire is introduced in a corresponding IDC terminal. The second pressing element is pivoted to the base to be rotated to press against the first pressing element through second pressing portions, so as to fix the terminal pusher to the base.

Socket with integrated insulation displacement connection terminals

An electrical connector is provided with a circuit board with interconnecting conductors respectively extending between spring contact termination locations and other termination locations. Sets of spring contact conductors are provided terminating at respective spring contact termination locations. Each of the spring contact conductors of the set of spring contact conductors has a plug contact zone and defines a spring contact conductive path from an associated plug contact zone to a respective spring contact termination location. The sets of spring contact conductors provide different conductive path lengths from an associated plug contact zone to a respective spring contact termination location.

Electrical connector with shortened contact and crosstalk compensation

An electrical connector jack is provided including a body with a support portion and a plug receiving portion defining an opening. A circuit board is mounted to the support portion to position the circuit board relative to the plug receiving portion. The circuit board has interconnecting conductor circuit traces respectively extending from spring contact termination locations. A plurality of terminated spring contact conductors is provided with each terminating at a respective one of the spring contact termination locations, each of the terminated spring contact conductors having a contact zone. A plurality of supported spring contact conductors are supported by the body and extend therefrom. The supported spring contact conductors each have a plug contact zone and a terminated spring contact conductor zone. With contact of the plug contact zone with a plug, the supported spring contact conductors are respectively in contact with respective contact zones of the terminated spring contact conductors providing a transmission path from the plug to the circuit traces of the circuit board.
