Provided are a connecting apparatus for a wireless device and a connecting method thereof, more particularly, a connecting apparatus for a wireless device, which exchanges basic information required for establishing a wireless communication channel between wireless devices through a contact surface interface on which the wireless devices physically contact each other, registers the basis information respectively in the wireless devices, and completes setting of a communication protocol while the wireless devices contact each other, and a connecting method thereof. Therefore, since basic information for communications is automatically exchanged between wireless devices and registered respectively in the wireless devices through a contact interface, it is possible to easily and conveniently connect the wireless devices wirelessly.

Apparatus and method for connecting wireless devices

A fast handover method optimized for IEEE 802.11 networks. In a wireless local area system including a mobile terminal and at least two wireless access points (APs) that communicate with the mobile terminal over a unique radio channel, the fast handover method includes receiving a beacon frame signal from the serving AP and the neighbor APs of the mobile terminal; generating a first signal to determine a state of each of the neighbor APs based on the beacon frame signal received from each of the neighbor APs; comparing the first signal with predefined thresholds, classifying the neighbor APs into a detected AP, a candidate AP, and a target AP according to a result of the comparison, and storing the classification result in a neighbor AP list; and selecting an AP for the handover based on the classification result in the neighbor AP list.

Fast handover method optimized for IEEE 802.11 networks

Disclosed herein is wireless home LAN system using multiple antennas, and a wireless access point (AP) apparatus in a communication system for providing a plurality of terminals contained in a closed specific area with a wireless access service that includes a plurality of wireless modules arranged in the closed specific area at intervals of a predetermined distance, that are selectively activated, and a control module connected to the wireless modules by wire, for controlling communication performed in the area of the terminals and connection to an external network using the activated wireless modules. The apparatus selectively activates antennas in only a specific area requesting a communication service using a single controller and a plurality of antennas connected to the controller, such that it can solve performance anomalies and inter-cell frequency interference problems. Also, the apparatus controls propagation beams to concentrate on a minimum area, resulting in improved security.

Wireless home LAN system using multiple antennas

A handoff method is provided in a communication network including a plurality of fixed nodes attached to a router connected to at least one external network, and at least one mobile node associated with a current fixed node. The method detects movement of a mobile node; prepares a handoff of the mobile node from a current fixed node to potential fixed nodes upon detecting movement of the mobile node; decides whether to handoff to one of the potential fixed nodes as a target fixed node; and performs the handoff from the current fixed node to the target fixed node. The handoff method enables the mobile station to quickly move its association from one access point to another by minimizing a probe delay which is a primary contributor to handoff delay.
