Disclosed is an assembly line system of a stacked battery module, which includes a first facility line configured to assemble a cell housing and accommodate battery cells in the cell housing; a second facility line configured to assemble an electric connection component and a voltage sensing component; and a third facility line configured to connect the battery cells to each other in series and in parallel and to inspect functional abnormality thereof, wherein the first facility line, the second facility line and the third facility line are arranged to circulate in order based on a predetermined origin, and a first-layer cell module assembly assembled at a first circulation is reversed to change the top and bottom thereof so that a second-layer cell module assembly is assembled on the first-layer cell module assembly at a second circulation.

Discussed is a a process automation system including: a cell transferor configured to transfer battery cells; a cell inspector configured to measure an open circuit voltage of each battery cell in units of a preset number of battery cells and to sort out qualified battery cells and defective battery cells; a frame transferor configured to transfer module frames of a battery module to insert the qualified battery cells; a cell discharger configured to load and discharge the defective battery cells; and a gripper configured to pick up one or more battery cells from any one device among the cell transferor, the cell inspector, the frame transferor, and the cell discharger, and transport the one or more battery cells to another device.

Provided a battery module manufacturing apparatus configured to insert a battery assembly into a module housing. The battery module manufacturing apparatus, which inserts a battery assembly including a plurality of secondary batteries into a module housing, includes: a protective film supply unit configured to supply a protective film so as to cover an outer surface of the battery assembly or to retrieve the protective film from the outer surface of the battery assembly; and a protective film transfer unit configured to move in an insertion direction in which the battery assembly is inserted into the module housing and a direction opposite to the insertion direction in a state of holding a part of the supplied protective film.
