In addition the access information can be used to detect when an unauthorized device attempts to access the network, posing as an authorized device.

The invention relates to a system and method for management of an IP network using eXtensible Markup Language (XML) or a similar protocol in addition to SNMP or other managed-device protocol. Moreover, where performance data indicates that a SIP server has failed, the performance score for the failed SIP server is zero, and the load balancer will not forward SIP messages to the failed SIP server.
