A method, apparatus, and system for creating a passenger service unit layout for a production aircraft. Passenger seat configuration information describing seat locations and overhead bin configuration information describing overhead service unit length ranges for the production aircraft is identified. Lengths available for placing passenger service units in the production aircraft is determined using the passenger seat configuration information and the overhead bin configuration information for the production aircraft. The passenger service units are placed in the lengths using a set of priority rules for the passenger service units to determine placements of the passenger service units, wherein the set of priority rules specify a priority in placing different types of the passenger service units. A model of a three-dimensional passenger service unit layout with determined placements for the passenger service units for the production aircraft is generated.

A system and method for implementing a layout of passenger arrangements using previously designed configurations. A plurality of tools for implementing a layout of passenger arrangements using previously designed configurations is provided. The plurality of tools comprise a previously designed configurations identification and selection tool configured for selecting previously designed configurations to include in the layout of passenger arrangements and a previously designed configuration visualization tool for displaying a degree to which the layout of passenger arrangements comprises previously designed configurations. A tool selection user interface may be provided to receive input from an operator identifying a one of the plurality of tools to run.

An electrically dimmable window ('EDW') system comprising an EDW, a control switch, and a controller. The switch and controller control the light transmittance level of the EDW. State indicators indicate when the EDW is in transition from one light transmittance level to another level. When there is no transition in light transmittance level, the indicators may denote the current light transmittance level of the EDW.
