A wireless power transmission apparatus includes patch antennas which form an RF wave; a memory storing electromagnetic wave distribution maps corresponding to transmission conditions for transmitting the RF wave; and a processor configured to determine a position of an electronic device and a position of a living body, determine a transmission condition which transmits the RF wave which causes an electromagnetic wave having a size not exceeding a first threshold value to be applied to a position of the living body while being beam-formed at a position of the electronic device, using at least a portion of the electromagnetic wave distribution maps, and generate the RF wave with the determined transmission condition using the patch antennas, each electromagnetic wave distribution map indicating the size of electromagnetic waves at one or more points around the wireless power transmission apparatus when the RF wave is formed by each of the transmission conditions.

Wireless power transmission apparatus and control method thereof

A wireless power transmission device radiating electromagnetic waves is disclosed. The wireless power transmission device can comprise: a first circuit board; a first conductive member mounted on a first surface of the first circuit board; a first ground member mounted on a second surface facing opposite from the first surface; and an electrical circuit disposed on a position, on the second surface of the first circuit board, which does not overlap the first ground member and for controlling the radiation of electromagnetic waves from the first circuit board.

Disclosed are a wireless power transmission device and a control method thereof. The wireless power transmission device includes a communication circuit that receives information transmitted by an electronic device that receives wireless power; an array antenna including multiple cells that radiate wireless power; and a controller that receives the information transmitted by the electronic device through the communication circuit, combines cells of the multiple cells included in the array antenna based on the information and creates a group of cells corresponding to the electronic device, and controls the cells included in the group to radiate the wireless power towards the electronic device.

A hybrid antenna used for an electronic device is disclosed. A wireless power transmitting device is provided. The wireless power transmitting device includes a patch antenna, and a transmission/reception processing circuit configured to output a first signal to the patch antenna during a first period, and process a second signal output from the patch antenna during a second period, wherein the patch antenna is configured to transmit a transmission wave using the first signal, and output the second signal to the transmission/reception processing circuit using a reception wave.

Wireless power transmitter and control method therefor

A wireless power transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit power to an electronic device is provided. The wireless power transmitter includes a power transmission antenna including a plurality of patch antennas for wirelessly transmitting power, a sensor, and a processor, wherein the processor may be configured to create a first clutter map representing a reflection characteristic of an object positioned around the wireless power transmitter based on, at least, first data obtained by the sensor during a first period, store the first clutter map, compare a difference between the first clutter map and second data obtained by the sensor during a second period with data contained in the first clutter map, create a second clutter map corresponding to the second period based on a result of the comparison, determine a position of an organism using the second data and the second clutter map, and control the power transmission antenna such that a magnitude of the RF wave is less than a predetermined value based on the position of the organism.

Wireless power transmitter and method for controlling the same

According to an embodiment a wireless power transmitting device, includes a power transmission antenna including patch antennas to wirelessly transmit power, and communication antennas configured to receive a communication signal from an electronic device. The wireless power transmitting device also includes a processor configured to detect a direction in which the electronic device is positioned based on the communication signal received through the communication antennas and control the power transmission antenna to transmit the power in the detected direction.

An electronic device is provided that includes a housing and a power receiver disposed within the housing. The power receiver includes a conductive pattern for receiving power wirelessly. The conductive pattern includes a main coil having a plurality of turns, a first sub-coil formed at an input port of the main coil, and a second sub-coil formed at an output port of the main coil.
