A device is disclosed, comprising a microwave resonator, for or on a spinner preparation machine with drawing gear () for drawing fiber material (FB), in particular a carding, drawing or combing machine, whereby the resonator () is embodied for connection to a measuring device () for measuring the strip density (mass per unit length) or the strip thickness and/or the dampness of the fiber material (FB), continuously passing through the resonator chamber (). Said device is characterized in that the resonator () is integrated in a functional group () of the spinner preparation machine which is typical for the machine. A spinner preparation machine, in particular a carding, drawing or combing machine, is further disclosed which comprises a corresponding device.

Device comprising a microwave resonator for or on a spinner preparation machine

The invention uses microwaves in the spinning industry in order to determine the band mass of an elongated, substantially non-twisted fiber structure. In addition, a method for measuring the sliver mass from the frequency detuning and the damping of resonance signals of a microwave sensor while taking into consideration the moisture of the fiber structure with a computer is suggested. Likewise, a corresponding spinning preparation machine and a laboratory device for measuring the sliver mass are part of the invention. Lastly, a method and a spinning preparation machine for recognizing foreign matter in a moved fiber structure with the aid of microwaves is suggested.

Use of microwaves for sensors in the spinning industry

Different improvements of a spinning preparation machine are proposed to measure the fiber sliver thickness or the fiber sliver cross-section of at least one fiber sliver by means of one or several microwave sensors. One improvement is characterized by compressing means and special mechanical guiding elements that can be installed before, after and/or in the microwave sensor. It is also proposed to install a pair of conveyor rollers after a microwave sensor that can be designed in particular as an input roller pair of the subsequent drafting equipment. Furthermore, proposals are made for the calibration of the (at least one) microwave sensor.

Spinning preparation machine

A method and device for the evaluation of signals of a sensor, in particular of a microwave sensor, is proposed for the detection of the thickness, mass, density and/or moisture of at least one fiber sliver moving relative to the sensor on drafting equipment. A high-frequency unit assigned to the sensor produces a number of first digital signals in digital form of the current state of the (at least one) fiber sliver. The method according to the invention is characterized in that a second digital signal, representing the current sliver thickness or sliver mass of the (at least one) fiber sliver and which is then used to control the drafting equipment and/or to judge the fiber sliver quality, is formed according to an algorithm from the first digital signals made available. In addition a suitable device for the evaluation of the signals of a sensor is proposed.

Method and device to evaluate signals of a sensor to monitor a textile machine

The invention concerns an apparatus for the optimization of the regulation adjustment of a machine in spinning preparation, in particular a regulated draw frame, a carding machine, or a combing machine, to which one or more fiber bands are continually fed. The apparatus has at least one sensor which is positioned ahead of the feed end of a draw frame machine for the purpose of capturing the values of band thicknesses of one or more of the entering fiber bands. The apparatus also has at least one delivery end sensor located at the delivery end of the draw frame machine for the purpose of capturing the values of the band thickness of the produced fiber band of a first draw frame operational mode. The apparatus also includes a microprocessor for the comparing of the captured values of the at least one delivery end sensor to those of at least a second draw frame operational mode, whereby the second draw frame operational mode does not represent the normal operational mode of the draw frame machine. The apparatus also includes a control and/or regulation unit for the adaption of the regulatory adjustments on the grounds of such machine characteristics and/or fiber material properties as can influence the measured values. Likewise, a corresponding procedure is proposed.

Apparatus for the optimizing of the regulation adjustment of a spinning machine as well as a procedure corresponding thereto

A coiler plate is provided for sliver coil depositing. The coiler plate has a rotational axis, a spatially curved sliver channel having a wall, an inside wall surface, a sliver inlet, and a sliver outlet. The sliver inlet is arranged substantially coaxial with the rotational axis, and the sliver outlet is arranged at a radial distance and an axial distance from the sliver inlet. The device has a field producer that produces at least one of a magnetic field and an electric field. The field is for acting on the sliver such that the sliver is positioned away from at least a portion of the sliver channel inside wall surface.

An apparatus for determining a point of regulation in a drafting unit includes a sensor for generating signals as a function of change in a quality-representing magnitude of the fiber material running through the drafting unit; a control device receiving the signals for varying a draft of the fiber material by the drafting unit; and an arrangement for continuously determining, during operation, optimal points of regulation based on the signals.

Method and apparatus for determining the point of regulation for a drafting unit in a fiber processing machine

A fiber processing machine includes a sliver drafting unit which has first and second adjoining roll assemblies each defining a nip through which a sliver runs in a sliver advancing direction. The second roll assembly is spaced downstream of the first roll assembly. The nips of the first and second roll assemblies together define a principal drafting field and the drafting direction thereof. At least two pressure bars are disposed in the principal drafting field for contacting and deflecting the sliver from the drafting direction as the sliver advances from the first roll assembly to the second roll assembly.
