Reference time detecting circuit

A ghost cancelling system is disclosed which includes an input terminal applied with a video signal including a ghost signal component, a ghost cancelling circuit connected to the input terminal, the ghost cancelling circuit including a transversal filter, and an output terminal connected to the ghost cancelling circuit for deriving an output video signal in which the ghost signal component is substantially suppressed. In this case, the transversal filter comprises the combination of a common delay circuit used for a signal delay circuit and for a demultiplexer circuit in time divisional manner, a memory circuit connected to the common delay circuit and activated when the common delay circuit is used for the demultiplexer circuit, and a weighting circuit connected between the memory circuit and the common delay circuit.

Ghost cancelling system

A ghost cancelling system for eliminating a ghost by using a ghost cancelling signal formed from an input video signal including the ghost and adding the ghost cancelling signal to the input video signal. In this ghost cancelling system, the divergence of the ghost cancelling circuit is avoided during the transient time of the channel selection or during the ghost cancelling process, and when there is the possibility that the ghost cancelling circuit diverges, the circuit is firstly made operable as a feed-forward type circuit for a predetermined period and thereafter made operable as a feedback type circuit.

A television receiver is disclosed in which there are provided a television signal receiving circuit including RF and IF stages; a video detector connected to the television signal receiving circuits; an AGC circuit connected between the video detector and television signal receiving circuit for automatically controlling the gain of the latter, the AGC circuit having a predetermined time constant; and a ghost detector connected to the video detector for detecting a ghost signal during a certain period in a vertical blanking period of the video signal from the video detector. In this case, a switching device is provided for switching the AGC circuit at least during the certain period in the vertical blanking period such that the detected ghost level is not substantially influenced by the transient level change of the AGC circuit.

Television receiver with a ghost detector

A DC motor control circuit is provided with a starter circuit responsive to the frequency of a rotational signal derived from a signal generator attached to the DC motor. The starter circuit includes a monostable multivibrator which ceases to operate when the frequency of the rotational signal exceeds a predetermined frequency.
