A wireless base station includes an antenna for communicating with a terminal in a coverage area; a transmitting unit that transmits to an adjacent wireless base station via the antenna, configuration information used by the wireless base station to control communication with the terminal; a receiving unit that receives configuration information of the adjacent wireless base station via the antenna; and a configuration information controlling unit that sets configuration information of the wireless base station, based on the configuration information of the adjacent wireless base station received by the receiving unit.

The present invention utilizes a wireless base station having a first radio transceiver and a second radio transceiver connected to the first radio transceiver with a communication cable, a first baseband unit connected to the first radio transceiver with a communication cable, and a second baseband unit connected to the second radio transceiver with a communication cable.

The feature is realized in a base station having transmitters corresponding to a plurality of sectors, as there are a switch distributing signals corresponding to a plurality of subcarriers to the plurality of sectors, respectively, and an inverse Fourier transform processor performing inverse Fourier transform processing on the signals for the plurality of sectors distributed by the switch, so as to supply to each corresponding transmitter among transmitters corresponding to the plurality of sectors.

In a calibration apparatus, which calibrates the phases of main signals input to each of the antenna elements of an array antenna, a calibration signal generation portion generates calibration signals, which are combined with main signals. An RF switch alternately inputs to a wireless receiving portion the signals radiated from other antenna elements via a first antenna element, and the signals radiated from other antenna elements via a second antenna element, and causes demodulation. The calibration detection portion detects calibration signals from the demodulated signals, and the weight generation portion uses the detected calibration signals to calculate calibration weights, which are set in the phase shifter, to control the phases of main signals for input to each antenna element.

Calibration apparatus

The present invention relates to a calibration apparatus for an array antenna having a plurality of antenna elements. The calibration apparatus comprises a conversion unit detecting a calibration signal from an output of a transmission unit to convert the detected calibration signal into a predetermined reception radio frequency and outputting the converted calibration signal together with a reception main signal to a reception unit, a detecting unit detecting the calibration signal from an output of the reception unit for each of the antenna elements to obtain a relative phase difference between the calibration signals, and a phase correcting unit correcting a phase difference with respect to one of or both a transmission main signal and a reception main signal based on the obtained relative phase difference. This configuration can eliminate the need for a radio transmitter-receiver dedicated to a calibration signal, thus facilitating the calibrations.

Calibration apparatus and method for array antenna

By applying a modification considering a frequency difference to a phase error signal, phase lock is established in a short period of time even when there is a frequency difference. A jump detector detects a discontinuous jump of the phase error signal which occurs when there is a frequency difference, and a state transition is caused in a state storage device in accordance with the resulting detection signal. A holding device corrects the phase error signal in accordance with the state stored in the state storage device and outputs the thus corrected phase error signal as a frequency-phase error signal.
