The present invention relates to two-part moisture curing compositions useful for adhesive, sealing, potting and other applications. In particular, the present invention relates to two-part room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) compositions which include in one of the parts a moisture curing organic polymer which is substantially free or does not contain siloxane bonds in its backbone.

This invention relates to a dual curing silicone composition with an enhanced depth of cure. This composition incorporates an acylphosphine oxide or diacylphosphine oxide, the compatibility of which with the silicone is promoted through the use of a polar carrier. The composition may also include a second photoinitiator that is different than the acylphosphine oxide.

Room temperature curable silicone sealant

A standardized test for measuring the stringiness of room temperature vulcanizable silicone sealant compositions is disclosed wherein a tube of sealant is held at a constant angle to the surface upon which the sealant is being applied. The surface is movable and once a small bead of sealant has been deposited upon the surface the surface is moved at a constant rate of speed until the sealant bead breaks off from the source. The length of any string of sealant formed thereby is measured. This measurement for a given composition is compared to the measurement for other compositions and thereby allows optimization of sealant compositions to minimize an undesirable feature.
