To provide a protecting device and a battery pack using the same, which are less likely to cause a spark even when a high voltage is applied and can safely and quickly interrupt the current path. A protecting device includes: an insulating substrate; a fuse element; a heat-generatorwhich generates heat to blow the fuse element; a heat-generator feeding electrodewhich serves as a power-feeding terminal to the heat-generator; an insulating layerwhich covers the heat-generator; and a heat-generator lead-out electrodewhich is formed along the heat-generatoron the insulating layerand holds the melted conductorof the fuse element, wherein, when the heat-generatoris energized, the heat-generator feeding electrodeside thereof works as a high potential portion and the heat-generator lead-out electrodeside thereof works as a low potential portion, and in the heat-generator lead-out electrode, an overlapping area in which a distal end portionextending in the high potential portion side of the heat-generatoroverlaps the heat-generatoris smaller than an overlapping area in which a proximal end portionextending in the low potential portion side of heat-generatoroverlaps the heat-generator

Protecting device and battery pack

Provided is a protection circuit capable of reliably preventing an overcurrent or a sneak current after cutoff to improve safety, implementing cost reduction with a device configuration simpler than conventional device configurations, and further reducing a failure rate of a device. In a protection circuit, after one of two fuse elements provided in each of a plurality of protection elements is blown due to an overcurrent flowing along a current-carrying path, a heater provided in at least one of the plurality of protection elements generates heat due to a sneak current flowing via the plurality of protection elements on the current-carrying path which is remained and blows the other of the two fuse elements provided in the at least one of the plurality of protection elements.

Protection circuit, battery pack, and protection circuit operating method

Provided is a protection circuit capable of reliably preventing an overcurrent or a sneak current after cutoff to improve safety, implementing cost reduction with a device configuration simpler than conventional device configurations, and further reducing a failure rate of a device. A fuse element capable of surface-mounting and capable of increased ratings while maintaining high-speed blowout property; and a fuse device using the same. A fuse element blown by self-generated heat caused when a rate-exceeding current flows therethrough constitutes a current path of a fuse device and has a low melting point metal layer and a high melting point metal layer laminated onto the low melting point metal layer; when the current flows therethrough, the low melting point metal layer erodes the high melting point metal layer and blowout occurs.

To spread flux evenly across the entire surface of a rectangular meltable conductor, a protective element includes: an insulating substrate; a heat-generating resistor disposed on the insulating substrate; a first and a second electrodes laminated onto the insulating substrate; a heat-generating element extracting electrode overlapping the heat-generating resistor in a state electrically insulated therefrom and electrically connected to the heat-generating resistor on a current path between the first and the second electrodes; a rectangular meltable conductor laminated between the heat-generating element extracting electrode and the first and the second electrodes for interrupting a current path between the first electrode and the second electrode by being melted by heat; and a plurality of flux bodies disposed on the meltable conductor; wherein the flux bodies are disposed along the heat-generating resistor.

A protection element, connected onto an electric current path of an electric circuit, is provided with an insulating substrate, a heating resistor formed on one surface of the insulating substrate with a first insulating layer interposed therebetween, a low-melting-point metal body disposed above the heating resistor with a second insulating layer interposed therebetween and that constitutes part of the electric current path, and connection portions connected to both ends of the low-melting-point metal body and that electrically connect the electric current path and the low-melting-point metal body. The connection portions are formed on the surface of the insulating substrate with a first glass layer interposed therebetween.

Overcurrent and overvoltage protecting fuse for battery pack with electrodes on either side of an insulated substrate connected by through-holes

A charging/discharging control device that can protect a chargeable/dischargeable battery cell from an excess current state while preventing the device from being increased in scale and from being complex. The charging/discharging control device includes: switches that are connected in parallel on current paths between a battery and a positive terminal of a battery pack; a switching control unit that switches between a charging current path and a discharging current path; a protective element that fuses the charging current path when a current value of the charging current path flowing through the switch exceeds a first fusing current value; and a protective element that fuses the discharging current path when a current value of the discharging current path flowing through the switch exceeds a second fusing current value higher than the first fusing current value.

Charging/discharging control device, battery pack, electrical equipment, and charging/discharging control method

A protective circuit capable of coping with broad voltage variations of a battery unit to interrupt its charging/discharging current path as damages to the heating unit are prevented from occurrence is disclosed. The protective circuit includes fuses, connected to a charging/discharging current path in series between a battery unit and a charging/discharging control circuit, and a heating unit composed by a series connection of resistors. One of two ends of the resistor which is not connected to the peer resistor is connected to a current path of the fuses. The ends of the resistors not connected to the fuses, are provided with a plurality of terminals selected for connection to a current control element that controls the current flowing through the heating unit, as a range of voltage variations of the battery unit is taken into account.

A receiver apparatus includes: a main unit device; and a junction cable transmitting one or both of signal and electric power between the main unit device and an external device. The junction cable is a multicore coaxial cable having a plurality of core wire cables and a covered wire covering the plurality of core wire cables, and only the covered wire is cut locally so that the covered wire is divided into a main unit device-side covered wire and an external device-side covered wire. The main unit device transmits one or both of the signal and electric power by the core wire cable, and the main unit device-side covered wire or the core wire cable is connected to an antenna input port of a built-in tuner, and the main unit device receives a desired broadcast wave with the tuner using a high-frequency signal induced in the main unit device-side covered wire or the external device-side covered wire.
