Various techniques pertaining to a special dual clear-to-send (CTS) mode for improvement in collision avoidance in wireless communications are described. A first station (STA) transmits a request-to-send (RTS) and, in response, receives a first CTS from a second STA. The first STA waits to receive a second CTS from the second STA before transmitting data to the second STA responsive to the first CTS being of a first type and the second CTS being of a second type different from the first type. The first STA then transmits the data to the second STA upon passage of a waiting period.

Special dual CTS mode for improvement in collision avoidance

A time-division mechanism that a source station uses a proprietary frame for notifying switching from a normal bandwidth operation to a narrow bandwidth operation to at least one destination station in a wireless communication system, and uses a protection frame to reserve the service period for the narrow bandwidth operation without the interference from the normal bandwidth operation, wherein the service period of the narrow bandwidth operation is indicated in the protection frame.

Method of handling normal bandwidth and narrow bandwidth coexistence

The present invention provides a method of configuring transmission data streams and a wireless communication system. A first wireless device of the wireless communication system determines a number of data streams for a second wireless device, under a condition that the first wireless device operates in a noncontiguous operation mode. Radio frequency (RF) units of the wireless devices are fully exploited, and the data rate between the first wireless device and the second wireless device is enhanced.
