A beam splitting film includes a light transmissive plate, a plurality of cylindrical lenticular lenses, and a plurality of strip-shaped protrusion groups. The light transmissive plate has a first surface and a second surface. The cylindrical lenticular lenses are disposed on the first surface. The strip-shaped protrusion groups are disposed on the second surface. Each of the strip-shaped protrusion groups includes at least two strip-shaped protrusions. Each of the strip-shaped protrusion groups corresponds to one of the cylindrical lenticular lenses. A distance between an orthographic projection of a geometric center of each of the strip-shaped protrusion groups on the first surface and an orthographic projection of a geometric center of the corresponding cylindrical lenticular lens on the first surface is less than ten times of a distance between the geometric centers of two adjacent cylindrical lenticular lenses. A backlight module and a stereo display apparatus are also provided.

Beam splitting film, backlight module, and stereo display apparatus

A backlight module includes a lighting unit and a brightness enhancement sheet. The brightness enhancement sheet is disposed beside the lighting unit. The brightness enhancement sheet includes a light-transmissive substrate, a plurality of lenses, a reflective layer, and a diffusion layer. The light-transmissive substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first surface is located between the second surface and the lighting unit. The lenses are disposed on the first surface. The reflective layer is disposed on the second surface. The reflective layer has a plurality of light-transmissive openings respectively located on the optical axes of the lenses. The diffusion layer is disposed on the reflective layer and covers the light-transmissive openings. The reflective layer is disposed between the diffusion layer and the second surface. A liquid crystal display apparatus is also provided.

Backlight module and liquid crystal display apparatus

A beam splitting film including a light transmissive plate and a plurality of strip protrusion groups is provided. The light transmissive plate has a first surface and a second surface. The strip protrusion groups are disposed on the second surface. Each of the strip protrusion groups includes a first strip protrusion and a second strip protrusion. The first strip protrusion has a first strip surface and a second strip surface inclined relative to the second surface. The second strip protrusion has a third strip surface and a fourth strip surface inclined relative to the second surface. An average slope of the first strip surface is not equal to an average slope of the third strip surface. An average slope of the second strip surface is not equal to an average slope of the fourth strip surface. A backlight module and a stereo display apparatus are also provided.

Backlight module, stereo display apparatus, and beam splitting film

A backlight module including a beam splitting film, a light guide plate, and two light emitting elements is provided. The beam splitting film includes a light transmissive plate and multiple strip-shaped protrusion structures. Each of the strip-shaped protrusion structures has a first inclined surface group and a second inclined surface group. The first inclined surface group includes a first inclined surface and a second inclined surface with different slopes. The second inclined surface group includes a third inclined surface and a fourth inclined surface with different slopes. The light guide plate is disposed beside the beam splitting film. The two light emitting elements are respectively disposed at two opposite sides of the light guide plate and capable of flickering alternately. A stereo display apparatus is also provided.

Backlight module and stereo display apparatus

A brightness enhancement film (BEF) includes a light transmissive substrate having a first surface and a second surface, a plurality of lenses disposed on the first surface, and a reflective layer. Each of the lenses has a curved protruding surface facing away from the light transmissive substrate. The radius of curvature of the curved protruding surface in a first direction parallel to the first surface is R, the radius in a second direction is R, and R&#x2260;R. The reflective layer is disposed on the second surface and has a plurality of light pass openings respectively located on the optical axes of the lenses. The distance between the apex of the curved protruding surface and the corresponding light pass opening is L, the refractive index of the lenses is n, and the BEF satisfies L&#x3c;nR/(n&#x2212;1) and L&#x3c;nR/(n&#x2212;1). A backing light module using the BEF is provided.

Brightness enhancement film and backlight module

A projection screen includes a base sheet, a surface roughness structure, a reflective layer, and a light absorption layer. The base sheet has a first side and a second side opposite to the first side. A plurality of first surfaces and second surfaces are formed on the first side, each first surface faces an optical projection system, and each second surface is disposed between two adjacent first surfaces and forms an angle with respect to a neighboring first surface. The surface roughness structure is formed on at least the first surfaces and capable of diffusing a light beam to a limited extent. The reflective layer is formed on the surface roughness structure and capable of reflecting most of the light beam diffused by the surface roughness structure to a limited extent towards a limited viewing cone, and the light absorption layer is formed on the second surfaces.

Projection screen and manufacturing method thereof

A brightness enhancement sheet including a light transmissive substrate, a plurality of strip prisms, and a plurality of protruding structures is provided. The light transmissive substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The strip prisms are disposed on the first surface. Each of the strip prisms has two prism surfaces, and a junction of the two prism surfaces forms a crest line, and a valley line is formed between each of the two adjacent strip prisms. Each of the protruding structures has two wing portions. The two wing portions are respectively disposed on two prism surfaces of the corresponding strip prism. A junction of the two wing portions forms a protruding end. The protruding end protrudes from the crest line of the corresponding strip prism. Each of the wing portions extends from the protruding end to the valley line.

Brightness enhancement sheet

An optical film is applied to a side-emitting backlight module. The side-emitting backlight module has a light guide plate for guiding a chief light beam. The light guide plate has a light emitting surface to define a normal direction thereof. The optical film includes a lower prism structure, an intermedium layer, and an upper prism structure. The lower prism structure is disposed on the light emitting surface. The intermedium layer is connected between the lower prism structure and the upper prism structure. When the chief light beam exits from the light emitting surface of the light guide plate, and then goes through the lower prism structure, it goes through the intermedium layer along a changed traveling direction. When the chief light beam exits from the intermedium layer, and goes through the upper prism structure, it turns from the changed traveling direction to the normal direction.

Optical film applied to a side-emitting backlight module

A projection screen includes a reflection layer, a light absorbing structure, a plurality of light diffusion layers, and a lens structure. The light absorbing structure is disposed on the reflection layer and has a plurality of apertures. A part of the reflection layer is exposed via the apertures. The light diffusion layers have a first index of refraction. Each of the light diffusion layer is disposed in the corresponding aperture and contacts the corresponding reflection layer exposed via the corresponding aperture. The lens structure is disposed on the light diffusion layers and the light absorbing structure. A light incidence side of the lens structure includes a plurality of convex lenses. The convex lenses are respectively corresponding with the light diffusion layers. The lens structure has a second index of refraction, and the second index of refraction is smaller than the first index of refraction.

Projection screen

A light-collimating film includes a transparent substrate, multiple reflective elements, and multiple micro structures. The transparent substrate has a light incident surface and a light-emitting surface opposite the light incident surface. The reflective elements are formed on the light incident surface, wherein each two adjacent reflective elements define a longitudinal aperture. The micro structures are arranged on the light-emitting surface in a direction parallel to longitudinal axes of the longitudinal apertures and overlap the longitudinal apertures to form multiple rows of micro structures. The micro structures include a first side portion to deflect a first light beam incident thereon toward a first virtual central plane of the micro structure which equally divides the micro structure, and a second side portion to deflect a second light beam incident thereon toward a second virtual central plane of the micro structure which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the longitudinal aperture.

Light-collimating film

An optical film has a light incident side and a light emitting side above the light incident side. V shape protrusions disposed side by side are disposed at the light incident side. Collimating units disposed side by side are disposed at the light emitting side. Each of the V shape protrusions and each of the collimating units extend along a predetermined direction. The collimating units are respectively corresponded to the V shape protrusions. Two inclined surfaces of each of the V shape protrusions are respectively a light incident surface and a reflection surface. In each corresponding pair of the V shape protrusion and the collimating unit, a central axis of the collimating unit parallel to the predetermined direction is right above the reflection surface of the V shape protrusion. A backlight module using the optical film is provided to provide a plane light source having high luminance.

Optical film and backlight module using the same

A light guide plate (LGP) adapted to a backlight module having a light emitting surface, a bottom surface opposite to the light emitting surface, and at least one light incident surface contacting with the light emitting surface and the bottom surface is provided. The bottom surface has a plurality of flat surfaces and a plurality of groove groups. The groove groups and the flat surfaces are arranged in an alternating fashion. Each of the groove groups has at least two grooves. Each of the grooves has a first slanted surface, a peak, and a second slanted surface intersecting with the first slanted surface at the peak. In each of the grooves, a first edge side of the first slanted surface away from the peak is at a first distance from a second edge side of the second slanted surface away from the peak.

Light guide plate and backlight module

A direct type illuminating device includes a light source unit, a reflector plate, a diffuser plate, and a lens module. The light source unit provides source light beams. The reflector plate and the diffuser plate are spaced at an interval from each other, and the light source unit is interposed between the reflector plate and the diffuser plate. The lens module surrounds the light source unit such that the lens module is interposed between the light source unit and the reflector and diffuser plates. An outer curved surface of the lens module has a radius of curvature different from a radius of curvature of an outer curved surface of the light source unit such that the source light beams provided by the light source unit are refracted by the lens module to result in change of traveling directions of the source light beams.

Direct type illuminating device

An optical multilayer film includes first and second optical layers, and a refracting layer. The first optical layer has a light-exit surface. The second optical layer has a light-incoming surface facing the light-exit surface of the first optical layer, and a light-outgoing surface opposite to the light-incoming surface and formed with a light-converging structure. The refracting layer is disposed between and is in contact with the first and second optical layers, is made from a transparent material, and has a refractive index that is smaller than that of the second optical layer.
