Provided herein is an aptamer specific to coagulation factor XIII (FXIII) and its uses thereof. Accordingly, the present aptamer is useful as a bio-tool to label thrombi, and/or as a targeting molecule to deliver drugs to thrombotic area. Therefore, the present disclosure also pertains to methods for treating diseases associated with FXIII, such as thrombosis.

Aptamers for targeting coagulation factor XIII and uses thereof

Niclosamide derivatives are provided in the present invention. More particularly, the methods of using niclosamide derivatives for the manufacture of medicaments for suppressing platelet aggregation and preventing thrombosis-related diseases are provided. The niclosamide derivatives in the medicaments inhibit the production of thromboxane A2, therefore suppress platelet aggregation and prevent thrombosis-related diseases.

Disclosed are 5-nitrobenzoate derivatives of Formula I, and the preparation method therefor, wherein R is referred to hydrogen (H), unsubstituted, mono-substituted, di-substituted or tri-substituted benzoyl moiety. 5-Nitrobenzoare derivatives of Formula I do not affect the platelet aggregation, possesses the inhibitory activity related to the tumor cell-induced platelet aggregation (TCIPA), and further specifically inhibits podoplanin-induced platelet aggregation. Therefore, 5-nitrobenzoates of the invention are applicable in its therapeutic use as the novel therapeutic agent in preventing tumor metastasis.

This invention provides methods, systems, and compositions for detecting low abundance microbial DNA in a sample by PCR. Methods of the present invention are based on a strategy that tags the 5'-end of the target DNA templates with a non-bacterial tagging sequence so as to set the templates apart from the endogenous contaminants present in the PCR reagents. There is also provided fusion probes for tagging the templates and primer sets to amplify the tagged templates. Systems and kits for facilitating and automating methods of the present invention are also provided.
