A method for generating multiple windows frames, an electronic device thereof, and a computer program product using the method are provided. In the present method, first, a touch trajectory generated by continuously touching a touch panel of the electronic device is detected, wherein the center of the touch panel is a display area, and a non-display area surrounds the display area. Then, whether the touch trajectory is started from one side of the non-display area and passed through the display area to be extended to another side of the non-display area is determined. If so, the display area is split according to the touch trajectory to display at least two windows frames. As a result, an intuitional and convenient method for generating multiple windows frames in the display area is provided, and the operation of the electronic device is made very convenient.

A method and system for using an image sensor to control applications on a mobile device is disclosed. The system uses image processing to detect control gestures by the user. Control gestures may include, for example, moving a hand laterally, moving the hand closer or farther away from the camera, or opening and closing a hand. These control motions are linked to user commands to be executed by the application being controlled. The system initializes by storing a background image showing the field of view of the image sensor before any objects are present. It then detects new objects in the field of view by comparing new images to the background image. If a new object is detected, the system waits until the object is stationary in the field of view. After the object is stationary, the system detects if there is a change in the object indicating a control gesture. After detecting a change in the stationary object, the system determines a set of parameters defining the change and matches the parameters to a user command. The parameters may include the object's change in position or size or change in hand state (e.g. open or closed). The system then passes the command to an application to be executed.

Method and apparatus for controlling a mobile device using a camera

A method for controlling a surrounding device and a communication device and a computer-readable medium using the same are proposed. The proposed method is adapted for a communication device, and includes following procedures. Firstly, a connection with a surrounding device is established through a wireless communication function. Then, a target setting value associated with a setting of the surrounding device is stored. Further, it is determined whether the communication device receives a communication request. Moreover, when the communication device receives the communication request, the setting of the surrounding device is modified from an original setting value to the target setting value.

A holder and a sucker thereof for mounting onto the surface of an object are provided. The sucker has an adhesive layer and a deformable body which is disposed on the edge of the adhesive layer. The holder further includes a rod and a locking module. An end of the rod is connected to the sucker. The locking module is disposed on the sucker and is adapted to lift the rod to form a low pressure space. Thus, the holder and the sucker can be positioned onto the surface of the object.

The physical key module assembled to the main body has a display surface, and the physical key module includes at least two overlapped icon units. The device may also be configured to launch applications in either mode. It may be configured to switch between modes automatically or in response to a user command. A portable electronic device includes a first body having a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other, a second body movably disposed on the first body covers the first surface, a first frame fixed on the first body, a second frame pivoted to the first frame, and a third frame fixed on the second body and slidably coupled to the second frame. The second frame is capable of sliding between a first position and a second position relative to the third frame. When the second frame is located on the second position relative to the third frame, the first frame is capable of rotating towards the first position from the second position to reach a third position relative to the second frame, such that the second body is capable of being turned over from the first surface to the second surface relative to the first body.

The connecting mechanism is disposed in the first body. The input unit is movably disposed on the first body, wherein the connecting mechanism connects the input unit and the second body. When the second body moves from a first position to a second position relative to the first body, the second body drives the input unit to move from a third position to a fourth position relative to the first body through the connecting mechanism.

A portable electronic device includes a first body, a second body, a motion assembly, a connector, and an ejector. The second body has a hollow portion, and the first body is movable disposed on the second body to cover the hollow portion. The motion assembly is disposed between the first body and the second body, so that the first body is able to move relatively to the second body. The connector is movably disposed in the hollow portion. The ejector is disposed between the connector and the second body. When the first body moves relatively to the second body to expose the hollow portion of the second body, the ejector is capable of driving the connector to move out of the hollow portion.
