An electroluminescent display includes an electroluminescent panel, and at least one brightness enhanced film. The electroluminescent panel has a plurality of sub-pixels, and at least one illumination surface. The brightness enhanced film is disposed on the at least one illumination surface. The brightness enhanced film has a plurality of micro lenses, and the width of the micro lens is smaller than half of the minimum width of the sub-pixels.

Electroluminescent display

The present invention discloses a phenanthrene derivative having the following structure: wherein Arand Arindependently are phenyl, nathphyl, heterocyclic group, polycyclic aromatic or polycyclic heterocyclic group with at least one conjugated substituent. The conjugated substituent can be an electron withdrawing group or electron donating group. The phenanthrene derivatives have semiconductor properties of electron transfer, electroluminescence (EL), and photoluminescence (PL). Intermolecular stacking can be avoided and electron-luminescent emission stability is enhanced when the derivatives are applied as a light-emitting material in organic EL devices due to the presence of the two stereo cyclopentane rings, such as a host compound or a dopant emitting blue light.

A method of fabricating a pixel structure for use in an electroluminescent panel includes the following steps. A substrate is provided. Three shadow masks having a plurality of first, second, and third openings patterned in an array of T shaped are respectively provided, and three evaporation processes using the three shadow masks are subsequently performed to form a plurality of first subpixel units, second subpixel units and third subpixel units respectively. One first subpixel of the first subpixel unit, one second subpixel of the second subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit, and one third subpixel of the third subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit form a display pixel unit.

An organic electroluminescent panel includes several sub-pixels. The sub-pixels include at least one first electrode; at least one shadow wall formed at the periphery of the first electrode; at least one first common layer formed on the first electrode; several emission layers independently formed on the first common layer; at least one second common layer formed on the emission layers; and at least one second electrode formed on the second common layer. During the fabricating process, the first, second, and third color evaporation sources are provided independently for forming the first, second, and third color emission layers on the corresponding region of first electrode. The tilt directions of three color evaporation sources and the evaporation angles between the evaporation source and the substrate surface are determined according to the positions and heights of the shadow walls.

A full-color organic electroluminescence (OEL) display panel includes a substrate and a plurality of full-color OEL pixel devices in a matrix form as a display frame. Each of the pixel devices is composed of a plurality of sub-pixel regions, corresponding to R, G or B colors. Each of the specific color sub-pixel regions in the pixel device abuts the same specific color sub-pixel region of the adjacent pixel device thereof to form a double-sized emission area. With this arrangement of sub-pixel regions, it is easier to manufacture (a) high-resolution full-color OLED panels by a metal-mask alignment process, and (b) high-resolution full-color PLED panels by an ink-jet printing process.

Full-color organic electroluminescence display panel having sub pixel regions

A method of fabricating a color organic electroluminescent display involves forming cathode electrodes on a substrate, and forming a first organic semiconductor layer having an electron-injection transporting property on the cathode electrodes. Solutions containing organic light-emitting material that can dissolve portions of the first organic semiconductor layer are patterned on the first organic semiconductor layer. Then, a solvent in the solutions is removed to form regions having second organic semiconductor layers and mixed organic semiconductor layers, wherein the second organic semiconductor layers are formed on the first organic semiconductor layer and are mostly composed of the organic light-emitting material, and the mixed organic semiconductor layers, composed of the organic light-emitting material and material constituting the first organic semiconductor layer, are embedded in the first organic semiconductor layer. Anode electrodes are formed over the first and second organic semiconductor layers. The present invention also provides a color organic electroluminescent display.

Color organic electroluminescent display and method for fabricating the same

A dual-screen organic electroluminescent display device is made by encapsulating two independent conventional organic electroluminescent displays inside two substrates to reduce its weight and thickness. Meanwhile, only one encapsulation step is carried out and encapsulation cost would be lower.

Dual-screen organic electroluminescent display

The present invention relates to an organic light-emitting device which provides an electroluminescence (EL) or photoluminescence (PL) device with high external quantum efficiency. The present invention forms a composite film layer with continuously changing refraction indices between an ITO transparent electrode and a substrate made of plastic or glass. The refraction index of the composite film layer is the same as the ITO electrode at the interface with the ITO electrode. It decreases along the direction perpendicular to the substrate in a linear or nonlinear way. The refraction index is the same as that of the plastic or glass at the interface with the substrate. This way can avoid reflection due to the difference in the refraction index across the interface. The excited light originally trapped in the ITO electrode can be guided outwards. A preferred mean is to incorporate a photon wave guide formed at the interface between the substrate and the air to increase the external quantum efficiency of this type of organic light-emitting devices.

Organic light-emitting device

A flexible organic electro-luminescent device is provided, in which a titanium dioxide-silicon dioxide composite layer is formed on the upper and lower surfaces of a transparent plastic substrate. A transparent conductive electrode and an organic luminescent layer are formed in sequence on one of surfaces of the composite layer. The organic luminescent layer is either small molecule luminescent material or polymer luminescent material. Then, a metal electrode is formed on the organic luminescent layer, and a silicon dioxide protecting layer is formed on the metal electrode to enclose the metal electrode and the organic luminescent layer completely. The titanium dioxide-silicon dioxide composite layer and silicon dioxide protecting layer are formed by ion-assisted electron gun evaporation in the temperature lower than 100&deg; C., which does not result in the thermal loading to the small molecule and polymer organic electro-luminescent device.

Organic electro-luminescent device with first and second composite layers

A method of manufacturing a full-color organic electro-luminescent device on an indium-tin-oxide glass substrate. A pattern is formed on the indium-tin-oxide glass substrate by the photolithography and the etching process. The indium-tin-oxide glass substrate is cleaned. An insulation pad is formed over the indium-tin-oxide glass substrate. A low shadow mask and a high shadow mask are sequentially formed over the insulation pad by conducting dry film photo-resist processes. A hole-transport layer is formed over the indium-tin-oxide glass substrate by conducting a vapor-depositing process. Three vapor-depositing processes are simultaneously conducted to form red, green and blue light-emitting layers on the hole-transport layer using the low shadow mask and the high shadow mask as a barrier. An electron-transport layer and a metal layer are serially formed over the light-emitting layers by conducting vapor-depositing processes.

Method of manufacturing full-color organic electro-luminescent device

An encapsulation method of organic electroluminscence device is provided. An organic electroluminescent device is formed on an indium-tin-oxide glass substrate. A metal electrode is formed on the organic electroluminescent device. The organic electroluminescent device is encapsulated by a nitride layer or a carbide layer formed by using segmental sputtering at a low temperature. The substrate is soldered on a metal plate and covered by a metal cap.

Encapsulation method of an organic electroluminescent device

A method for fabricating a full-color organic electro-luminescent device starts with forming an indium tin oxide (ITO) layer on a glass substrate, and then forming a blue-light emitting layer on the ITO layer. By irradiating predetermined portions of the blue-light emitting layer with certain light sources, pixels that emit different light colors are formed on the irradiated portions of the blue-light emitting layer. An electrode layer is then formed on the corresponding pixels, wherein the electrode layer is further covered by a protection layer. During the operation of the full-color OEL device of the invention, a driving voltage is applied on the ITO layer, the anode, and the electrode layer, the cathode.
