A backlight module including a light guide plate, a light source, an optical film, a first prism sheet and a second prism sheet is provided. The light guide plate has a light incident surface and a light emitting surface. The light source is disposed on a side of the light incident surface. The optical film is overlapped with the light emitting surface and includes a substrate, a plurality of optical microstructures and a first diffusion structure layer. The optical microstructures are disposed on a light incident side of the substrate. An extending direction of the optical microstructures intersects with the light incident surface. The first diffusion structure layer is disposed on a light emitting side of the substrate and is overlapped with the optical microstructures. The first prism sheet and the second prism sheet are overlapped with the optical film and are positioned on the light emitting side.

Backlight module

A projection screen includes a substrate, a plurality of prism structures, and a plurality of light absorbing structures. The substrate includes a first surface adjacent to the projector and a second surface away from the projector. The prism structures are disposed on the first surface, and each of the prism structures includes a first inclined surface, a second inclined surface, and a bottom surface. The first inclined surface is configured to receive and reflect projection light beams. There is a first angle between the first inclined surface and the bottom surface, and a second angle between the second inclined surface and the bottom surface. The first angle is less than or equal to the second angle. The light absorbing structures are respectively disposed on at least a portion of the second inclined surface of each of the prism structures. The light absorbing structures are configured to absorb ambient light.

Projection screen

A rear projection screen includes a prism film, a first diffusion layer, a second diffusion layer and a light absorbing film sequentially disposed along a first direction. The prism film includes a first light-transmitting substrate and prism structures, wherein the prism structures are disposed on a surface of the first light-transmitting substrate away from the first diffusion layer. The prism structures receive an image beam and guide the image beam to be transmitted along the first direction. The first diffusion layer and the second diffusion layer have different refractive indexes. There are light-absorbing structures disposed in the light absorbing film, and the light-absorbing structures are arranged spaced apart from each other.

Rear projection screen

A rear projection screen includes a transparent substrate, a light absorbing film and a first diffusion film in sequence from a projection side to a viewer side. The transparent substrate includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other, the first surface faces the projection side, the second surface faces the viewer side, and the first surface is disposed with a plurality of prism structures protruding toward the projection side. The transparent substrate is located between the light absorbing film and the prism structures. The light absorbing film includes a plurality of light absorbing structures arranged at intervals from each other, and the distribution density of the prism structures is greater than that of the light absorbing structures. The light absorbing film is located between the first diffusion film and the transparent substrate. The rear projection screen through the above-mentioned design has a good image display quality.

A light source module including a first backlight module, a second backlight module, a turning film, and a first absorptive polarizer film is provided. The first backlight module has a first side and a second side. The first backlight module includes a first light guide plate (LGP) having a first light incident surface and a first light source disposed beside the first light incident surface. The second backlight module is arranged at the second side. The second backlight module includes a second LGP having a second light incident surface and a second light source disposed beside the second light incident surface. The turning film is arranged at the first side. The turning film includes a plurality of reverse prisms. The reverse prisms extend along an extension direction. The first absorptive polarizer film is disposed between the first backlight module and the second backlight module. A display device is also provided.

Light source module and display device

A backlight module includes a first surface light source assembly, a second surface light source assembly disposed above the first surface light source assembly, a first optical film disposed above the second surface light source assembly and including a plurality of prisms arranged along a first direction, and a light filter element disposed between the first and second surface light source assemblies. Both of the first surface light source assembly and the second surface light source assembly include a light emitting unit and a light guide plate. Each prism has a tip end facing the second surface light source assembly. The light filter element is configured to allow an incident light ray within a predetermined range of incident angle to pass therethrough. The backlight module can be switched between a narrow viewing angle mode and a wide viewing angle mode. Related driving method and display apparatus are also provided.

Backlight module, driving method thereof, and display apparatus using the backlight module

A backlight module includes a light guide plate having a bottom surface, a light emitting surface, a first light incident surface, and microstructures. Each microstructure recesses into or protrudes from the bottom surface and has a first and a second surfaces. The first and the second surfaces of at least one of the microstructures are located on two sides of a first reference plane parallel to the first light incident surface. A section-line of each first surface on a second reference plane perpendicular to the first light incident surface and perpendicular to the light emitting surface is a straight line. A first angle between each first surface and a third reference plane parallel to the light emitting surface in the light guide plate is between 0 degrees and 20 degrees, and a thickness of each microstructure is between 0 micrometers and 20 micrometers.

A display apparatus and a displaying method thereof are provided. The display apparatus includes a transmissive display panel, a liquid crystal glass, a backlight module and a transparent polarizer film. The liquid crystal glass is disposed at a side of the transmissive display panel. The liquid crystal glass has a transparent state and an atomization state and is adapted to switch between the transparent state and the atomization state. The backlight module is disposed at a side of the liquid crystal glass away from the transmissive display panel. The backlight module includes a transparent light-guiding plate and at least one light bar. The liquid crystal glass is located between the transmissive display panel and the transparent light-guiding plate. The transparent polarizer film is disposed at a side of the transparent light-guiding plate away from the liquid crystal glass.

Display apparatus and displaying method thereof

A planar light source including an LGP and first and second light sources are provided. The LGP has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other and a first groove and a second groove. The first groove and the second groove are respectively located on the first surface and the second surface, and are respectively located at two sides of a center line of the LGP, where the center line equally divides the first surface and the second surface. The first groove has a first side surface and a first light incident surface, and the second groove has a second side surface and a second light incident surface, where the light sources are disposed in the grooves. The light sources are suitable for respectively providing a light beam entering the LGP through the corresponding light incident surface.

Planar light source

A backlight module including an LGP, an optical film, a first light source is provided. The LGP has a bottom surface, a light emitting surface, a first light incident surface, and microstructures. Each microstructure is recessed into or protrudes out of the bottom surface and includes at least two structural units. A section line of each structural unit on a first reference plane is a curve, and the curve has a peak point. A distance between two peak points of two adjacent structural units along a first direction is greater than 0 and smaller than a half of a total width of the two structural units along the first direction. Each microstructure has a symmetric plane perpendicular to the light emitting surface and the first light incident surface. The optical film is located on the light emitting surface. The first light source is located beside the first light incident surface.
