An electronic apparatus and a method for temporarily storing data thereof, adapted to temporarily store the data downloaded from a remote apparatus, are provided. In the method, an access instruction to the remote apparatus is captured, and accordingly a file requested by the access instruction or metadata of all files and subfolders under a folder requested by the access instruction is downloaded and temporarily stored in a storage unit, in which a usage time of the temporarily stored file is recorded. When a specific condition is met, the usage time of all the temporarily stored files is checked and at least one file that is not accessed for the longest time is deleted accordingly. The folder having the deleted file is checked whether not to include data of any file, and accordingly the metadata of all the files and subfolders under the folder is deleted.

Electronic apparatus and method for temporarily storing data thereof

A method for maintaining transmission control protocol (TCP) connection and a computer system are provided. The method is adapted to a computer system having a network card and a processor, wherein the processor executes an operating system. In the method, a first TCP connection with a remote server is first established via the network card. Then, after the operating system enters a power saving mode, a wake-up packet transmitted by the remote server through the first TCP connection is received to wake the operating system. The operating system resets the retransmission time of the remote server transmitting the wake-up packet when resuming a normal operation mode.

Method for maintaining transmission control protocol connection and computer system using the method

A maintenance method for network connection and a computer system are provided. The method is adapted to a computer system having a timer. The timer is configured to regularly wake up the computer system to check whether a network connection is working normally. In the method, the computer system is waked up at intervals of a first time interval within a predetermined period and a current IP address of the computer system is extracted. The predetermined period is divided into a plurality of periods by the first time interval. Whether a change occurs on the IP address is determined withing each of the periods, and accordingly the computer system is waked up to check the network connection.

A maintenance method for network connection and a computer system are provided. The method is adapted to a computer system having a real-time clock. The real-time clock is configured to regularly wake up the computer system to check whether a network connection is working normally. In the method, a wake up operation to wake up the computer system is received from a user. It is determined whether a connection time of maintaining the network connection so far from a last time of entering a power saving mode is greater than a counting time for the real-time clock to wake up the computer system. It is tested whether the network connection is working normally when the connection time is greater than the counting time. The counting time of the real-time clock is updated to the connection time when the network connection is working normally.

Next, whether the electronic apparatus is in a partial wake-up mode entered after being woken up by the network card is determined. Then, the electronic apparatus is woken up to a normal operation mode if the electronic apparatus is in the partial wake-up mode.
