An input/output module comprises a module body, a circuit board, and an input/output port. The circuit board is coupled to the module body and has a first surface and a second surface. A second connection portion is disposed on the second surface and electrically connected to a mobile electronic device body. The input/output port is disposed on the first surface and electrically connected to the second connection portion. The input/output port has an insertion end corresponding in position to an opening of the module body and connected to an external transmission connector. Further provided is a mobile electronic device having an input/output module, wherein the input/output module is replaceable such that the mobile electronic device has a transmission interface function and is expandable in applicability.

A backup battery charger charges a backup battery of a handheld electronic device. The handheld electronic device comprises a power supply unit and an electronic component. The power supply unit supplies a power to the electronic component. The backup battery charger is connected to the electronic component, such that the backup battery charger shares with the electronic component the power, uses the power as a charging power, and controllably determines via a control module whether to supply the charging power to the backup battery.

A printed circuit board grounding structure for use with a communication apparatus is configured for use with a printed circuit board to contact a grounded casing and thereby form a grounded circuit capable of electromagnetic wave shielding. The printed circuit board ground structure includes a copper conductive layer and a plurality of solder contacts. The copper conductive layer is circumferentially disposed along the periphery of the printed circuit board. The solder contacts are disposed on the copper conductive layer and used for electrically contacting with the casing. The printed circuit board grounding structure prevents deterioration of electromagnetic wave shielding despite oxidation of the copper conductive layer. The circumferentially-disposed copper conductive layer blocks electromagnetic wave generated from inside the printed circuit board, prevents leakage of the electromagnetic wave, and ultimately prevents the electromagnetic wave from interfering with other electronic apparatuses.

A charging method and a charging system are introduced for controlling a charging current by a PWM method. A charging IC is controlled to supply the charging current to a battery, and a control unit is used to generate a PWM signal with a duty cycle, and a filter unit is used to convert the PWM signal into a voltage signal to be supplied to the charging IC, and the control unit determines whether a current of a battery detected by the battery status detection unit reaches a regular current, so that a PWM signal with a duty cycle greater than the previous duty cycle by a default increased cycle is provided if the detected current has not reached the regular current. Thus, the feature of the PWM signal is used to set the charging current according to the capacity of the battery automatically.

It is a snap-engagement structure whereby a mother body and a daughter body of a portable electronic device are snap-engaged with each other and thereby fixed to each other. The mother body includes two installation units. The snap-engagement structure includes a key unit, fastening units, and a first restoring unit. The key unit and the fastening units move relative to each other in different directions to effectuate enhanced snap-engagement, watertightness, and miniaturization.

A system and a method for controlling access at a user end are disclosed. The correlation between a tag signal of a femtocell access point and a tag signal of a fixed internet device is established, such that when the femtocell access point would access internet via the fixed internet device, a tag signal of the femtocell access point and a tag signal of the fixed internet device are acquired, so as to determine whether the tag signal of the femtocell access point and the tag signal of the fixed internet device match the correlation in the data bank. When the tag signal of the femtocell access point and the tag signal of the fixed internet device match the correlation, the femtocell access point is allowed to provide access services. The present invention provides an effective mechanism for controlling access at a user end.

An overvoltage protection circuit and a portable electronic device having the same are introduced. The overvoltage protection circuit provides overvoltage protection when an input voltage exceeds a rated voltage tolerable by an internal circuit unit in the portable electronic device. A reference voltage and a partial voltage are generated from the input voltage through a voltage limiting unit and voltage dividing module, respectively, and conveyed to a comparing module for comparison. Comparison of the reference voltage and the partial voltage is followed by generation of a switch signal whereby a switch unit determines whether to apply the input voltage to the internal circuit unit. The voltage dividing module sets the maximum rated voltage tolerable by the internal circuit unit and enables the overvoltage protection circuit to give overvoltage protection to the portable electronic device regardless of temperature.

A heat-dissipating casing for a communication apparatus accommodates a circuit board having a power element and includes an insulating case, a lid coupled to the insulating case, and a thermally conductive metal member. The insulating case has a receiving space, a first opening, and a second opening. The first and second openings communicate with the receiving space. The thermally conductive metal member is fixed to the inside of the insulating case, seals the second opening, and dissipates heat generated by the power element. The heat-dissipating casing is effective in dissipating heat, characterized by its low weight and low production costs, and conducive to protection and dust prevention.

A method for laying out a printed circuit board for use in a gigabit-capable passive optical network includes the steps of providing a printed circuit board and laying out an analog circuit module, an analog-to-digital conversion module, a signal processing module, an optoelectronic transmitting and receiving module, and a power module on the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has a first periphery and an opposing second periphery. The analog circuit module and the optoelectronic transmitting and receiving module are laid out at the first periphery of the printed circuit board. The power module is laid out at the second periphery of the printed circuit board. Electromagnectic wave generated by a power IC inserted in the power module does not interfere with data transmission taking place at the optoelectronic transmitting and receiving module. Furthermore, a printed circuit board for use with the method is proposed.

A signal transmission method includes using a signal integrating device to receive a first digital signal from a network line or to transmit a second digital thereto; feeding the power transmitted from the network line into the first digital signal to form an integrated signal; using a signal converting device to restore the integrated signal back to the network line power and the first digital signal; converting a first digital signal into a first analog signal or a second analog signal received from outside into a second digital signal; and using a coiled-wire cord connecting the signal integrating device and the signal converting device to transmit the integrated signal from the signal integrating device to the signal converting device or transmit the second digital signal from the signal converting device to the signal integrating device. The invention thereby achieves transmission of digital signals by a coiled-wire cord.

In a press method, a housing is placed on a carrying table, and a panel is placed on a movable platform, and then a first driving unit is used for driving the movable platform to extended from an opening of a housing into the housing, such that the panel is fixed to a position corresponding to the window without touching an internal surface of the housing, and finally a press machine is used for driving the housing and the movable platform to engage with each other, such that the panel is combined with the interior of the housing for sealing the window. Therefore, the panel can be combined into a cramped space of the housing to overcome the defective issue of the prior art. In addition, a press tool adopting the press method is provided.

A wireless network apparatus capable of illumination includes a casing, a motherboard, a prompting unit, and a light emitting unit. The casing has a light permeable portion. The motherboard is disposed in the casing for serving a networking function. The prompting unit is disposed at the motherboard and electrically connected thereto for generating a prompting signal in accordance with a status of the networking function being performed by the motherboard. The light emitting unit is disposed on the motherboard or in the casing and corresponds in position to the light permeable portion. The light emitting unit is powered by the motherboard and configured to emit light passing through the light permeable portion, thereby serving a lighting function. Accordingly, the wireless network apparatus provides home illumination, increases the value-added, and boosts consumers' willingness to buy and install the wireless network apparatus.

A portable electronic device includes a body, a casing, and a resilient element. The casing accommodates the body such that the body can slide within the casing. The casing has an opening through which an electrical connection unit connected to the body protracts out of, or retracts into, the casing. The resilient element has an end connected to the casing and another end abutting against the body. The resilient element exerts a resilient restoring force upon the body in response to the sliding of the body. The casing has a stop structure configured to operate in conjunction with an engagement structure of the body and thereby limit the range of the sliding of the body. The engagement structure can be disengaged from the stop structure to separate the body from the casing. Accordingly, the portable electronic device has multiple uses, namely quick maintenance, easy assembly, body protection, and automatic accommodation.

When an electronic device is removed from a receiving chamber of the base, the rolling devices can reduce friction effectively and resilient force of the rolling device can fix the electronic device in the receiving chamber.
