A magnetic nanoparticle is provided in the disclosure. The magnetic nanoparticle includes a magnetic nanoparticle; a biocompatible polymer of the following formula (II) covalently coupled to the magnetic nanoparticle, wherein Ris alkyl, aryl, carboxyl, or amino; n is an integer from 5 to 1000; and m is an integer from 1 to 10.

A thermosensitive nanostructure for hyperthermia treatment. Magnetic nanoparticles are encapsulated in a thermosensitive polymer nanostructure having a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of about 40-45&#xb0; C. The thermosensitive polymer nanostructure may carry a drug. When the magnetic nanoparticles are heated to 40-45&#xb0; C. by application of an alternating magnetic field in hyperthermia treatment, the thermosensitive polymer nanostructure collapses to release the drug, thus providing concurrent drug treatment.

A core-shell structure with magnetic, thermal, and optical characteristics. The optical absorption band is tailorable by choice of the mixing ratio of the core/shell component to give the desired shell thickness. Process for preparing a silica-based organic-inorganic hybrid resin and the organic-inorganic hybrid resin prepared therefrom

A method for making continuous fiber-reinforced plastic composites is disclosed. It involves the steps of (a) using an extruder to continuously extrude a first plastic resin through an extruder die to form a first plastic resin layer; (b) continuously pulling a plurality of prepreg strips along with the first plastic resin layer; and (c) combining the plurality of prepreg strips with the first plastic resin layer to form a sandwiched composite containing at least two prepreg layers separated by the first plastic resin. The prepreg strip contains reinforcing fibers impregnated with a second plastic resin. The fiber-reinforced and sandwich-structured plastic composites exhibit greatly improved flexural strength and flexural modulus approaching those of real wood, and can be drilled, nailed, chiseled, saw, etc, similar to natural wood.

A composite legal type bicycle frame is disclosed which contains a front frame portion and a rear frame portion. The front frame portion contains a central main and a plurality of legs for connecting the central main with various components of the bicycle, and the rear frame portion contains a rear fork, which consists of a left rear branch and a right rear branch. The left and right rear branches are first cured and glued together at respective abutting surfaces thereof to form an integral rear fork before they are adjoined with the front frame portion, via prepregs and using a cocuring procedure. The left and right rear branches are formed to contain cross-shaped matching protrusion and recess, respectively, on the abutting surfaces thereof, so as to enhance the integrity of the integral rear fork. As a result, a great flexibility of design options can be obtained. For example, the rear fork can be connected to one of the legs but not to the central main. Also, the front frame portion can be designed such that one of the legs is connected indirectly to the central main via another leg, and not directly connected to the central main.

A mandrel assembly has a hollow main tube and two annular sleeves, wherein an inner diameter of the two annular sleeves is larger than an outer diameter of the two main tube ends. The two annular sleeves are sleeved respectively on the two main tube ends, which can be easily disengaged from the mandrel assembly when applied with an external force.

Bicycle frame

A method of molding a composite bicycle frame that includes the steps of curing a pair of seat stays and chain stays respectively and then connecting with the front triangle. Non-foaming dilatable materials are provided at suitable locations in the mold, such as the steering support cavity, the pedal support cavity, the seat stay butting cavity and the chain stay butting cavity. By heating the mold once, the seat stays and chain stays will secure with the front triangle and the front triangle can be cured at the same time to simplify the mold and the process.
