A saddle-ride vehicle with improved operability when an attitude of the vehicle changes in the opposite direction in a vehicle width direction in a short period of time. The saddle-ride vehicle includes: a steering actuator that applies torque in a steering direction to a suspension supporting a steering wheel; first detector that detects a roll angular velocity of a vehicle; and a controller that controls the steering actuator, based on the roll angular velocity detected by the first detector, to apply the torque to the suspension, in which the controller: includes modes of the control, the modes including a first control mode that performs control to apply a predetermined first steering torque, and a second control mode that performs control to apply a second steering torque smaller than first steering torque; and switches between the first control mode and the second control mode if a predetermined condition is satisfied.

Saddle ride type vehicle

To enhance a degree of freedom in the shape and the design of a swing arm without being influenced by the variation of a part for supporting an exhaust muffler on the side of the swing arm and a part for coupling a rear cushion unit to the side of the swing arm in a compact vehicle, a cushion bracket coupled to a lower end of the rear cushion unit and a muffler bracket that supports the exhaust muffler are provided as separate elements from the swing arm and are attached to the swing arm.

A swing arm support structure is provided in a motorcycle, in which first and second support arm portions are provided on a front portion of a swing arm. The support arm portions are pivotally supported by a power unit through first and second pivot shafts, so that rigidity and strength of the paired support arm portions is ensured. A flange is formed on the first pivot shaft, which extends at least partially up to an outer edge of a power unit case and projects radially outwardly from an end portion of the first pivot shaft adjacent the case. The flange portion is removably attached to the case. An outer end of an output shaft extends through and is supported by the first pivot shaft, and this outer end projects outwards of the first support arm portion. A drive gear is fixed to the outer end portion of the output shaft.

Swing arm support structure in a motorcycle, and motorcycle incorporating same

A structure for supporting a swing arm in a motorcycle is provided in which a power unit swingably supports a front portion of the swing arm via a first pivot of a cylindrical shape that is coaxial with an output shaft of the power unit and a second pivot that is coaxial with the first pivot. The number of parts used are reduced and the removal and installation of the swing arm is facilitated. An output shaft, an outer end portion of which projects outwardly of a swing arm, is connected to a final transmission member of a reduction transmission and is capable of removal or insertion in an axial direction, while being incapable of relative rotation about an axis. A first pivot is removably mounted on a power unit. A second pivot is removably secured to the power unit PA or the swing arm.

A motorcycle includes an engine mounted on a frame in a non-swingable manner. First and second rear arms are swingably supported by the engine about first and second coaxial swing axes, respectively. A rear wheel is rotatably supported between the first and second rear arms. The second rear arm includes front and rear arm members, which are supported swingably by the engine and support an axle of the rear wheel, respectively. The arm members are separably connected together to facilitate servicing and removal of the rear wheel.

Rear wheel suspension structure in motorcycle

A motorcycle includes a rear wheel supported by a swing arm, and a damper extends between the swing arm and the body. A swing arm extension portion extends in the rearward direction from a rear wheel shaft supporting portion of the swing arm. The damper is connected to a rear end connecting portion of the swing arm extension portion. A brake device includes a parking brake caliper and a rear brake caliper. The parking brake caliper and the rear brake caliper are arranged above and below the swing arm extension portion. The rear brake caliper and the parking brake caliper can be mounted without shifting the swing arm toward the outside in the body in the width direction more than necessary.
