A battery includes at least an electrode array and an electrolyte solution. The electrolyte solution contains at least a solvent and a supporting salt. The electrode array includes at least a positive electrode, a porous insulating layer, and a negative electrode. The porous insulating layer is interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The porous insulating layer contains at least a group of inorganic nanoparticles and a group of polymer particles. Each inorganic nanoparticle in the group of inorganic nanoparticles is a dielectric. Each inorganic nanoparticle in the group of inorganic nanoparticles is in contact with the electrolyte solution.

Battery and method of producing the same

A secondary battery includes a first electrode which is a columnar body having a first active material; a first current collecting unit connected to the first electrode; a second electrode having a second active material; a second current collecting unit connected to the second electrode; and a separation membrane that has ion conductivity and insulates between the first electrode and the second electrode. The secondary battery has a structure in which a plurality of the first electrodes are bound together while being adjacent to the second electrode with the separation membrane therebetween. A first connecting unit that is connected to the first electrode and melts when short-circuiting occurs may be connected to the first current collecting unit.

Rechargeable battery and method of producing the same

A lithium-ion secondary battery with excellent durability is provided using a two-phase coexisting compound as a positive electrode active material. This lithium-ion secondary battery is provided with an electrode body having a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material and a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution containing a lithium salt in an organic solvent. The positive electrode active material is mainly composed of a two-phase coexisting compound containing lithium, and also contains particles of a lithium-transition metal oxide with a layered structure. The particles of the layered oxide have an average particle diameter of 2 &#x3bc;m or less, and the percentage content thereof in the positive electrode active material is 5 mass % or less.

Non-aqueous electrolyte solution type lithium ion secondary battery

A lithium ion secondary battery provided by the present invention has a positive electrode having a current collector and a positive electrode composite layer provided on the current collector. The current collector contains a metal element A as a main component thereof. The positive electrode composite layer contains a two-phase compound containing lithium as a positive electrode active material. The positive electrode composite layer also contains as an additive a compound having a metal element B, in a composition thereof, that has a higher ionization tendency than the metal element A.

Non-aqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery

An electric power storage systemof the present invention includes a lithium secondary battery; a detection device to detect the temperature of the lithium secondary battery; and a control device to decrease a remaining capacity of the lithium secondary battery based on an increase of the detected temperature and a temperature Tbx of the lithium secondary battery. When a self-heating rate of the lithium secondary battery at a temperature T (K) and a remaining capacity x (%) is represented by Hs(x, T) (K/min), and a heat dissipation rate at a temperature T (K) of the lithium secondary battery is represented by Hd(T) (K/min), the temperature Tbx is a temperature at which Hs(x,Tbx)&#x3e;Hd(Tbx) holds. That is, this temperature Tbx is a temperature at which the heat generating rate is higher than the heat dissipation rate and at which the battery temperature T starts to increase.

Electric power storage system

The present invention provides a water based lithium secondary battery that can inhibit deteriorations in capacity owing to charge-and-discharge operations and maintain a high capacity even after it is charged and discharged repeatedly. The water based lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separatorsandwiched between these, and an aqueous electrolyte solution obtained by dissolving an electrolyte made of a lithium salt in a water based solvent. As the water based solvent, a pH buffer solution is employed. The buffer solution is obtained by dissolving an acid and its conjugate base's salt, a base and its conjugate acid's salt, a salt made from a weak acid and a strong base, a salt made from a weak base and a strong acid, or a salt made from a weak acid and a weak base in water.

Water based lithium secondary battery

A rotating spraying type coating apparatus having a spraying head attached to a rotating shaft of a rotating drive device, a paint supply passage connected to the proximal end of the spraying head, and a paint radiating portion formed at the distal end of the spraying head to thereby spray paint particles from the paint radiating portion. The apparatus is provided with a partition member which is disposed around the outer periphery of the spraying head in opposing relation to the latter, and at least a pair of air outlet ports which are disposed in such a manner that air is jetted out forwardly from the air outlet ports toward the outer peripheral surface of the partition member. Thus, the direction of spray of paint particles from the paint radiating portion is controlled by means of the jetted air, and it is possible to obtain elliptical and dumbbell-shaped spray patterns which cannot be obtained by the conventional rotating spraying type coating apparatuses.

Rotating spraying type coating apparatus

A rotating spraying type coating apparatus which includes a rotating drive device having a rotary shaft, a spraying head attached to the rotating drive device, a paint supplying passage connected to the base end of the spraying head, a paint radiating part formed at the top end of the spraying head, and at least one pair of air jetting holes provided on both sides of the spraying head. Also provided is a wash shroud for collecting washing agent radiated from the paint radiating part of the spraying head. This apparatus can provide a wide variety of coating patterns.

A rotating spraying type coating apparatus with wash shroud comprises a rotary drive device, a spraying head connected to the rotary drive device, a paint feed passage connected to base end of the spraying head, a paint radiating part formed at top end of the spraying head, an air jet device of annular shape for jetting an air flow to direct paint particles forward which are radiated from the paint radiating part, a coating pattern adjusting valve for varying the flow rate of the air jetting from the air jet device, a wash shroud covering outside of the spraying head and movable forward and rearward, and an opening formed at front end of the wash shroud. The wash shroud is disposed during coating to the rearward position where the paint radiating part of the spraying head projects from the opening at the front end of the wash shroud and during washing to the forward position where the paint radiating part of the spraying head is arranged within the wash shroud, and the air jet device is installed around the opening at the front end of the wash shroud.
