A microdevice includes: a microchannel to which a measurement target solution containing a measurement target substance is introduced; an antibody being fixed to at least one sidewall surface of the microchannel and specifically binding to the measurement target substance; a fluorescence-labeled derivative being specifically bound to the antibody and being acquired by fluorescence-labeling the measurement target substance; and a light blocker blocking excitation light exciting fluorescent light radiated by the fluorescence-labeled derivative. The measurement target substance and the fluorescence-labeled derivative specifically bind to the antibody in a competitive manner, and the antibody is fixed to the sidewall surface of the microchannel in a state of specifically binding to the fluorescence-labeled derivative. The light blocker blocks the excitation light entering the fluorescence-labeled derivative specifically binding to the antibody.

Microdevice and analysis device

An optical forming device includes a resin tank that holds a photocurable resin, a light source that emits light for curing the photocurable resin, and an optical modulator. The optical modulator includes a liquid crystal, a first substrate and a second substrate that sandwich the liquid crystal, and a first electrode and a second electrode that apply voltage to the liquid crystal. The optical modulator modulates, in a pattern based on the shape of a three-dimensional shaped object, light that causes the photocurable resin to cure, and irradiates the modulated light on the photocurable resin. The optical modulator includes a plurality of modulation regions including a first region and a second region that have mutually different voltage transmittance characteristics.

Optical forming device and optical modulation device

An optical forming device includes a resin tank that is to retain a photocurable resin containing dichroic polymerization initiator and a light emitter to emit light for causing the photocurable resin to undergo curing. An alignment film for causing the dichroic polymerization initiator to align in a predetermined direction is provided on a bottom portion of the resin tank. The light emitter irradiates the photocurable resin with the light by passing the light through the bottom portion of the resin tank as linearly polarized light having a polarization direction in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the dichroic polymerization initiator is aligned by the alignment film.

Optical forming device, forming method, and three-dimensional object

An optical forming device includes a light source to emit light for causing liquid photocurable resin to undergo curing and an optical modulator to modulate the light for causing the liquid photocurable resin to undergo curing in a pattern based on a shape of a three-dimensional object, and irradiate the liquid photocurable resin with the modulated light. The optical modulator includes a liquid crystal device to modulate the light for causing the liquid photocurable resin to undergo curing in the pattern, and emit the modulated light as linearly polarized light and an optical retardation device to impart a phase difference to the linearly polarized light emitted from the liquid crystal device, and emit the light imparted with the phase difference.

Optical forming device and forming method

A polarization analysis apparatus includes: a light source that radiates light to a sample; a liquid crystal panel that outputs polarized light in a specific direction from light radiated from an excited state sample; an image sensor that measures a luminance of polarized light; and a controller that controls the liquid crystal panel and the image sensor. The controller calculates a reference voltage of a rectangular wave; calculates a corrected reference voltage by correcting the reference voltage in the rectangular wave where an absolute value of the reference voltage changes in response to a phase change; applies the reference voltage and the corrected reference voltage to the liquid crystal panel; operates the image sensor in accordance with a light exposure time to measure luminance of polarized light; and calculates a degree of polarization of the sample based on results of the measurement.

Polarization analysis apparatus and control method of polarization analysis apparatus

To stabilize the alignment direction in the boundary between two regions in a structure in which a pixel includes two regions where the initial alignment directions of the liquid crystal are orthogonal to each other. A pixel is divided into a first region, a second region, and a boundary region between those regions. The initial alignment directions of the liquid crystal in the first region and the second region are orthogonal to each other, the extending directions of the pixel electrode in the first region and the second region are also orthogonal to each other. The extending direction of the pixel electrode in the first region meets the pixel electrode of the second region when extended. The initial alignment direction of the liquid crystal in the boundary region is a direction rotated in a same rotating direction from the initial alignment direction of the first region at an acute angle.

Provided are a liquid crystal panel and a method of manufacturing method of manufacturing a liquid crystal panel. The liquid crystal panel includes a first transparent substrate; a second transparent substrate; and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate. The first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate have transparency in a visible light region and an ultraviolet absorptive property. At least one of the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate includes a structure arranged in a predetermined region thereof, where the structure transmits ultraviolet rays in a specific wavelength range.
