A heat resistant silicone rubber composition containing greater than or equal to 0.1 mass % each of titanium oxide and iron oxide is disclosed. The heat resistant silicone rubber composition can form a heat resistant silicone rubber suitable for use in a high temperature environment. A method of reducing formaldehyde and/or low molecular weight organopolysiloxane generated from a cured product of a heat resistant silicone rubber composition upon heating the cured product is also disclosed. The method comprises compounding greater than or equal to 0.1 mass % each of titanium oxide and iron oxide in the heat resistant silicone rubber composition. Generally, even when the cured product is heated to a high temperature, such as a temperature greater than or equal to 300&#xb0; C., generation of formaldehyde and/or low molecular weight organopolysiloxane (e.g. D4, D5, and D6) from the cured product can be reduced.

A curable silicone composition comprises (A) (A-1) a dialkylpolysiloxane that has at least two alkenyl groups in each molecule and a viscosity of at least 1,000 mPa&#xb7;s to not more than 50,000 mPa&#xb7;s and (A-2) an alkenyl-containing, resin-form organopolysiloxane that comprises the SiOunit, RRSiOunit, and RSiOunit wherein Ris alkyl and Ris alkenyl and that contains the alkenyl group in the range from at least 0.5 mass % to less than 3.5 mass %; (B) an organopolysiloxane that has at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms; and (C) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The curable composition provides a highly transparent cured silicone material that has a hardness in the range from at least 30 to not more than 80, a parallel light transmittance at 25&#xb0; C. of at least 90%, and a parallel light transmittance at 200&#xb0; C. that is at least 99% of the parallel light transmittance at 25&#xb0; C.

Curable silicone composition that provides a highly transparent cured silicone material

A curable silicone composition comprises (A) (A-1) an alkenyl-containing dialkylpolysiloxane and a viscosity of at least 1,000 mPa&#xb7;s to not more than 20,000 mPa&#xb7;s and (A-2) an alkenyl-containing, resin-form organopolysiloxane that comprises the SiOunit, RRSiOunit, and RSiOunit wherein Ris alkyl and Ris alkenyl, that contains from 2.5 to 5.0 mass % alkenyl group, and that has a ratio for the total number of moles of RRSiOand RSiOunits to 1 mole of the SiOunit in the range from 0.70 to 1.10; (B) an organopolysiloxane that contains at least 0.9 mass % silicon-bonded hydrogen; and (C) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The curable composition provides a bending-tolerant and highly transparent cured silicone material that has a hardness in the range from 80 to 95, and a parallel light transmittance at 200&#xb0; C. of a value that is at least 99% of the parallel light transmittance at 25&#xb0; C.

Curable silicone composition

A thermosetting silicone rubber composition that contains a cerium oxide powder in an amount of 0.001 to 10 mass % and that is characterized by total transmittance of light equal to or greater than 90% according to JIS K7105 when the light is passed through a 1 mm-thick layer of an alkenyl-containing dimethylpolysiloxane gum with 0.1 mass % of said cerium oxide powder dispersed in the gum.
