In a method for controlling a fuel cell system, a shutoff valve is opened to supply a fuel gas from a storage container to a fuel cell after a fuel cell system shutdown instruction is sent to the fuel cell system so that the fuel cell generates and discharges electricity. The storage container is supplied to the fuel gas supplied from a fuel supply source provided outside the fuel cell system in response to a filling instruction to supply the fuel gas to the storage container. A data signal indicating a state of the storage container is transmitted to the fuel supply source. The shutoff valve is closed and the storage container is supplied to the fuel gas supplied from the fuel supply source if the filling instruction is output while opening the shutoff valve after the fuel cell system shutdown instruction is sent.

Fuel cell system and method for controlling the same

The present invention provides a fuel cell system that can quickly decrease a current/voltage characteristic. A fuel cell system includes an introduction piping which connects a discharging piping and a supply piping in communication with each other, and which introduces part of oxidant-off gas in the supply piping, and a circulation on-off valve provided in the introduction piping. The fuel cell system decreases the supply amount of air by an air compressor when a fuel cell is activated at a low temperature to decrease the air-stoichiometry of the fuel cell, and opens the circulation on-off valve to introduce the oxidant-off gas in the supply piping through the introduction piping, thereby causing the oxidant-off gas to circulate.

A data signal accurately reflecting the actual state of a storage vessel is sent to a station side. A fuel cell system () includes a hydrogen supply line () that connects a tank main body () and a fuel cell stack (), and a main stop valve provided to the hydrogen supply line (). A communicative filling system () generates a data signal based on the state of a hydrogen tank (), and sends the generated data signal to a station (). A vehicle (V) includes an FCV-ECU () that assumes processing related to control of the fuel cell system (), and a communicative filling ECU () that assumes processing related to control of the communicative filling system (). Then, the communicative filling ECU inhibits start of communication with the station () at least when determined that a main stop valve () is in a completely closed state.

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack having a membrane electrode assembly and an internal reactant gas passage, a unit that detects or estimates an actual retained water quantity (R.W.Q.), and a power generation control unit having a normal-time mode, a normal-time drying mode and a stop-time drying mode. In the normal-time drying mode, the fuel cell stack is caused to generate electric power while being dried more than in the normal-time mode until the actual R.W.Q. is decreased to a target R.W.Q. Fuel cell system and control method for the same

A scavenging process is performed on the anode side by opening an air supply valve to remove liquid droplets in a fuel gas flow field using the compressed air from an air compressor. During the scavenging process, when a start up signal from an ignition switch is received, the start up of a fuel cell is prohibited until the gas in the fuel gas flow field is replaced completely by air.

Method for sequentially measuring impedance, measurement device, and fuel cell system

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell, a fuel gas supply channel, a fuel off-gas discharge channel, an oxidant gas supply channel, an oxidant off-gas discharge channel, a first shut valve, a second shut valve, a shut valve controller, a temperature detector, a scavenging device, and an elapsed-time detector. The elapsed-time detector is configured to detect an elapsed time elapsed from a timing at which the fuel cell is shut down. The scavenging device scavenges the oxidant gas flow channel and the fuel gas flow channel in sequence if the elapsed time detected by the elapsed-time detector is within a first predetermined period of time. The scavenging device scavenges the fuel gas flow channel and the oxidant gas flow channel in sequence if the elapsed time detected by the elapsed-time detector is outside the first predetermined period of time.

A method includes an in-stop-mode power generating process and a first startup process. In the a first startup process, if an operation start instruction to start a fuel cell system is detected after the in-stop-mode power generating process, supply of a fuel gas from a fuel-gas supply apparatus is started, and supply of an oxide gas from an oxide-gas supply apparatus is started after a predetermined time has elapsed from the starting of supply of the fuel gas, when a pressure of an anode side is equal to or lower than a first threshold pressure.

Method for controlling fuel cell system with in-stop-mode power generating process and startup process

A fuel cell vehicle is provided that allows for filling as much fuel gas as possible. The vehicle includes a high-pressure tank, a communication system, a communicative filling ECU that selectively executes communicative filling that transmits a data signal from the communication system to the dispenser and allows hydrogen to be filled by way of the dispenser into the tank at a flowrate dependent on the pressure and the temperature; and non-communicative filling that does not transmit a data signal from the communication system and allows hydrogen to be filled at a predetermined flowrate. The ECU determines, while executing communicative filling, whether this communicative filling can be continued to be executed, and interrupts communicative filling and continues hydrogen filling by switching the filling method to non-communicative filling in response to having determined that continuation of communicative filling is not possible.

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack, a warming up status detector, a warming up completion threshold setter, an informing device, an estimator, and a threshold changer. The warming up status detector is configured to detect a warming up status of the fuel cell stack. The informing device is configured to inform of completion of warming up when a value corresponding to a warming up status detected by the warming up status detector is equal to or higher than a threshold value set by the warming up completion threshold setter. The estimator is configured to estimate whether generated water is frozen in the fuel cell stack. The threshold changer is configured to change the threshold value set by the warming up completion threshold setter in accordance with a freezing state of the generated water in the fuel cell stack estimated by the estimator.
