A method for simultaneous Reception (Rx) or Transmission (Tx) associated with dual subscriber numbers using a single RF device in a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The UE determines whether a trigger condition for enabling simultaneous Rx or Tx operation associated with two separate subscriber numbers is met. In response to the trigger condition being met, the UE reports a first value representing an aggregated bandwidth or a number of CCs or MIMO layers for one of the two separate subscriber numbers to a mobile communication network via the single RF device, so as to enable simultaneous Rx or Tx operation associated with the two separate subscriber numbers. In particular, the first value is less than a second value representing a maximum aggregated bandwidth or a maximum number of CCs or MIMO layers supported by the UE's capability.

Apparatuses and methods for simultaneous reception or transmission associated with dual subscriber numbers using a single radio frequency (RF) device

A method for switching between different RATs is provided. The method is executed by a mobile communications device camping on a first cell using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The method includes: determining, by a controller of the mobile communications device, a data transmission rate of the mobile communications device in the first cell; sending, by the controller, a first measurement report according to the determined data transmission rate, wherein the first measurement report is intended to trigger a handover procedure initiated by the first cell or to release a radio resource control (RRC) connection; and switching, by the controller, to camp on a second cell using a second RAT via the handover procedure or a local releasing procedure after the sending of the first measurement report.

Method and device for switching between different radio access technologies

A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The controller establishes one or more radio bearers with the first 3GPP network via the wireless transceivers, and establishes a secure tunnel with a non-3GPP interworking gateway of a second 3GPP network via the radio bearers. The second 3GPP network utilizes a second RAT. Also, the controller registers, via the secure tunnel, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service with an IMS server communicatively connected to the second 3GPP network, so as to make a voice call over the first 3GPP network.

Apparatuses and methods for voice call service provision

A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a controller is provided. The controller is coupled to the RF device and configured to allocate the RF device to selectively communicate with a Packet Switched (PS)-based network using a first subscriber identity or with a service network using a second subscriber identity, and ignore a paging message associated with the first subscriber identity during an ongoing on-demand service associated with the second subscriber identity.

Communication device controlling method

A wireless communication device including a plurality of wireless transceivers and a controller is provided. Each wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception using a respective Radio Access Technology (RAT). The controller enables the wireless transceivers to provide a plurality of wireless connections using a plurality of subscriber identities, and selects a first wireless connection from the plurality of wireless connections for communications between a user device and the wireless communication device. Also, the controller selects a second wireless connection from the plurality of wireless connections according to a service type of a packet flow associated with the user device, for communications between a service network and the wireless communication device, and assigns the second wireless connection for routing packets of the packet flow between the user device and the service network.

Apparatuses and methods for packet distribution on multiple subscriber identities

A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a baseband processor is provided. The RF device performs wireless transmission and reception to and from one or more cells. The baseband processor uses a first subscriber identity to establish a connection with a serving cell via the RF device to perform a first communication procedure, and in response to completing the first communication procedure or the first communication procedure being interrupted by a second communication procedure associated with a second subscriber identity, uses the first subscriber identity to send a measurement report to the serving cell via the RF device. In particular, the measurement report indicates a reported signal quality of the serving cell is poor enough to release the connection.

Apparatuses and methods for synchronizing states of separate subscriber identities with network

A mobile communication device including a first RF device, a second RF device, and a controller is provided. The first RF device performs wireless transmission and reception utilizing a first RAT. The second RF device performs wireless transmission and reception utilizing a second RAT. The controller uses a first subscriber identity to make a first call or conduct a first data session via the first RF device, determines whether a dual connectivity on the first RAT and the second RAT is supported in response to a request for using a second subscriber identity to start a second call or a second data session via the second RF device, and allows the second call or the second data session to start during the first call or the first data session in response to the dual connectivity on the first RAT and the second RAT being supported.

Apparatuses and methods for supporting dual talk of multiple subscriber identities

A mobile communication device including a first RF device, a second RF device, and a controller is provided. The first and second RF devices perform wireless transmission and reception utilizing a first RAT and a second RAT, respectively. The controller detects, during a communication with a first cell using a first subscriber identity, an incoming event for making a voice call or conducting a data session using a second subscriber identity via the second RF device, and switches the communication associated with the first subscriber identity to a second cell which utilizes the first RAT in a frequency band on which dual connectivity over the first and second RATs is supported, or enables the voice call associated with the second subscriber identity to be made via the first RF device when the communication associated with the first subscriber identity is performed via the second RF device.

Apparatuses and methods for dual active of multiple subscriber identities

A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a wireless transceiver is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a first service network and a second service network.
