A changeable resolution apparatus and method for scanner includes two rotational disks which have respectively a plurality of lenses of different focuses and a plurality of charge-coupled devices (CCD) of different resolutions located therein. A motor is provided to drive a transmission shaft to rotate in a positive or a reverse direction. Two one-way shaft bearings are engaged with the transmission shaft to drive the rotational disks one-way in opposite directions for changing lens and CCD combination to reach different resolutions. The apparatus is located in the scanner for users to adjust scanner resolution based on scanning requirements to get optimum resolution result.

Changeable resolution apparatus and method for optical scanner

A module of reflection mirrors of L-shape according to the invention, arranged in an optical chassis of scanner, is comprised of a first L-shaped mirror and a second L-shaped mirror. The recession portions for the second L-shaped mirror and the first L-shaped mirror are corresponded to each other in the space. After entering the module with a specific angle, an incident light is reflected several times between the two L-shape mirrors before it leaves the module with another angle again. Wherein, there are a first reflection zone and a second reflection zone at the recession portion of the first L-shaped mirror, and there are a third reflection zone and a fourth reflection zone at the recession portion of the second L-shaped mirror. After entering the module with a specific angle, the incident light passes through the second reflection zone, the third reflection zone, the fourth reflection zone, the second reflection zone, the first reflection zone, the fourth reflection zone, and the third reflection zone in sequence to get an appropriate optical length. Then, the reflection light leaves the module of reflection mirrors of L-shape with another angle that is different from the entering angle and is then focused into an image on a CCD by a lens.

Embodiments of the invention disclose a light-path device of an optical scanner that includes a curved-surface optical element and a light-path module. The arrangement between the curved-surface optical element and the light-path module may be designed such that the length of a light-path route through the light-path device may be adjusted to accommodate various sized objects to be scanned and physics characteristics of the photoelectric conversion device included in the scanner to convert the image into an electrical signal.

The present invention is a changeable apparatus for different total tracks and a corresponding method. The apparatus reflects a light from a light source at least twice toward predetermined directions. The apparatus comprises plural reflection elements, at least one of the plural reflection elements is a rotational reflection element, which has plural reflection surface sets, and each reflection surface set has at least one reflection surface. The rotational reflective element further comprises a pivot axis is for each rotational reflection element for circulating and changing of reflection surface sets and a fixing apparatus, which connects to a rotational reflection element for adjusting and fixing positions of the rotational reflection element.

Changeable means for different total tracks and its method

A compensation apparatus for image scan, applied to an optical scanner with a platform, on which an object to be scanned is disposed. The optical scanner has a photosensitive apparatus with a set of scan photosensitive devices and a storage apparatus. When the object is scanned by the set of scan photosensitive devices, a scanned image is obtained and saved in the storage apparatus temporarily. The compensation apparatus has a set of calibration boards, a set of calibration photosensitive devices and an image processor. The set of calibration boards has two calibration boards located at two sides of the platform. The set of calibration photosensitive devices is located at two sides of the set of scan photosensitive device. The image processor is used to extract and compare the calibrated image, so as to adjust the scanned image.

Compensation apparatus for image scan

A handheld Multi-Function Peripheral (MFP) capable of scanning includes the operation panel, the control processing unit, and the scanning apparatus. The operation panel is for the user to input a data and a scanning order. The control processing unit is for proceeding logic operation and data processing, and receiving the scanning order. The scanning apparatus includes the scanning channel, the light source, and the photoelectronic imaging device. The scanning channel is the passage for the to-be-scanned document. The light source and the photoelectronic imaging device are equipped in the one side of the scanning channel to provide the light for scanning and capture image of the to-be-scanned document, respectively.

Handheld multi-function peripheral capable of scanning

A method of operating an optical module/printer module system through a changer such that either the optical module or the printer module is driven. A first module and a second module is defined such that if the first module is an optical module, the second module is a printer module and if the first module is a printer module, the second module is an optical module. The operating method includes the following steps. In step one, the changer engages with the first module and drives the first module. In step two, the changer rotates so that the changer detaches from the first module and engages with the second module. In step three, the changer drives the second module.

The invention discloses an improved structure of light-source module, which arranges a reflection piece of light-source module in an image picking-up device of optical scanner. The invention applies the design of improved reflection piece to generate a compensatory function to the light source to reduce the waste formed by the light dissipation, which will be gathered by the reflection piece and be reflected to the document to be scanned. With the design of appropriate angle and position, the reflection piece may completely reflect the light onto the document to be scanned for obtaining a preferable quality of scanned image. Wherein, the reflection piece may be designed as two pieces, one of which may reach the function of light compensation, or one reflection piece may be designed as two reflection parts, one of which may reach the function of light compensation.

Structure of light-source module

A floating window, suitable for use in a flatbed scanner. The flatbed scanner has at least a top lid and a chassis. The floating window includes a transparent flat panel disposed under an opening of a top lid. A supporting structure and a limiting structure are further installed on the top lid, and a flexible structure is Installed between the supporting structure and the limiting structure. While being pushed by the chassis and pressed by the flexible structure, the transparent flat panel is in a floating status. When the chassis is periodically shifting to perform scanning, the transparent flat panel is correspondingly undulating up and down according to the periodic movement of the chassis; and consequently, the document disposed on the transparent flat panel is shifted up and down accordingly.

A paper-separating plate is adapted for a paper-separating mechanism having a paper-separating roller. The paper-separating plate placed around a side of the paper-separating roller comprises a main body and a cushion. The main body has a surface and a plurality of grooves and the grooves are positioned on the surface. The cushion is positioned on the surface of the main body and covers the grooves. The cushion positioned over the partial grooves is elastically pressed onto the paper-separating roller. The grooves are linear and the direction of extending the linear grooves is substantially parallel with the axis of the paper-separating roller, the linear grooves neighboring one another or each other. Besides, the cushion is made of flexible material and the main body is made of rigid material.

Method and apparatus for fastening adjustable optical lenses

In one embodiment, at least one rotational reflection element is circulated such that one or more reflection surface sets is positioned along an optical path of a scanner. Circulation is provided by rotating a fixing element that is coupled to the rotational reflection element. The fixing element may comprise a power source and a fixing pin, whereinthe fixing pin is operable to fix a position of the rotational reflection element.
