A method for driving a liquid crystal display (LCD) includes receiving image data of each display unit of the LCD in every display period to determine gray levels of the display units, controlling a gate driver of the LCD to scan each of the display units at least twice every display period, controlling a source driver of the LCD to generate a switch signal, controlling the source driver to determine the gray levels of one row of the display units when the switch signal is at a first voltage level, and controlling the source driver to drive one row of the display units to a predetermined gray level status when the switch signal is at a second voltage level.

Liquid crystal display and method for driving the same

A driving apparatus for a liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. The driving apparatus includes a plurality of data driving ICs and a control board. The data driving ICs are used for receiving and transmitting a clock signal, a plurality of data signals and a first reference voltage from the 1data driving IC to the last data driving IC in series. The control board is used for providing the clock signal, the data signals and the first reference voltage, and changing the first reference voltage received by each data driving IC according to a variation of the clock signal and the data signals transmitted between the data driving ICs, so that the operation frequency of the data driving ICs is unrestricted.

A driving apparatus for a liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. The driving apparatus includes a plurality of data driving ICs and a control board. The data driving ICs are used for receiving and transmitting a clock signal, a plurality of data signals and a first reference voltage from the 1st data driving IC to the last data driving IC in series. A liquid crystal display and the driving method thereof. The LCD includes a timing controller, a plurality of driver chips and a display panel. The driver chips are cascaded together for driving the display panel to display frames. A driver chip includes a differential receiver, a single-ended receiver, a shift register, a differential transmitter, a single-ended transmitter and a pixel driver. The driver chip receives a pixel signal and drives the display panel according to the pixel signal, and outputs the pixel signal to the next driver chip.

Liquid crystal display, driver chip and driving method thereof

An exemplary gate driving circuit is adapted for receiving an external gate power supply voltage and an external control signal, sequentially generating multiple internal shift data signal groups and thereby sequentially outputting multiple gate signals. Each of the internal shift data signal groups includes multiple sequentially-generated internal shift data signals. The gate driving circuit includes multiple gate signal generating modules. Each of the gate signal generating modules includes a voltage modulation circuit and a gate output buffer circuit. The voltage modulation circuit modulates the external gate power supply voltage according to a corresponding one of the internal shift data signal groups and the external control signal, and thereby a modulated voltage signal is obtained. The gate output buffer circuit includes a plurality of parallel-coupled output stages. The output stages output the modulated voltage signal as a part of the gate signals during the output stages being sequentially enabled.

A system for driving a liquid crystal display is provided. The system receives a video signal including a first predetermined gray level signal and a second predetermined gray level signal. The system includes a memory, an impulse signal module, a first multiplexer and a detection unit. The memory stores the first predetermined gray level signal. The impulse signal module receives the first and second predetermined gray level signal to generate a plurality of impulse signals. The first multiplexer receives the plurality of impulse signals and outputs the second predetermined gray level signal or the plurality of impulse signals according to the first control signal. The detection unit generates a first control signal to be applied to the first multiplexer according to the first predetermined gray level signal and the second predetermined gray level signal.

A display is provided. The display includes a first timing controller, a second timing controller and drivers. The first timing controller receives and transmits a first portion of pixel values, in which the first portion of the pixel values includes the pixel values of at least two non-adjacent pixels. An LCD gate driver circuitry having a control circuit to adjust the driving current according to a bias control signal, wherein the control circuit comprises a plurality of PMOS switching elements connected in parallel and a plurality of NMOS switching elements connected in parallel. These switching elements form a plurality of PMOS/NMOS switching element pairs. Each of the pairs serves as a current booster stage in the gate driver circuitry. The 'ON'/'OFF' state of each switching element pair is controlled by a separate bias signal so that the switching element pairs can be selectively turned on in order to adjust the driver current as needed. As such, the same gate driver circuitry can be used with different LCD panels.

LCD gate driver circuitry having adjustable current driving capacity

A LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) with improved motion image quality and a driving method therefor. The LCD includes a pixel, a data driving circuit and a scan driving circuit. The data driving circuit generates over driving pixel data and gray pixel data according to pixel data of a Nth frame and pixel data of a (N+1)th frame, and outputs driving voltages, which correspond to the over driving pixel data, black pixel data and the gray pixel data, to the pixel at first, second and third time. The scan driving circuit outputs a scan signal at the first time, second time and third time to enable the pixel to receive the driving voltages corresponding to the over driving pixel data, the black pixel data and the gray pixel data. The driving voltages enables the pixel to generate a brightness curve similar to a pulse curve.
