Techniques for data rate sharing for uplink and sidelink wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) generating a set of multimedia packets including a first multimedia packet and a second multimedia packet that is generated after the first multimedia packet. The UE may add the set of multimedia packets to a queue and apply an uplink packet handling protocol. Using the uplink packet handling protocol, the UE may discard the first multimedia packet and transmit, to a base station, the second multimedia packet. Using the second multimedia packet, a server in communication with the base station may generate a video frame and transmit the video frame to the UE via the base station.

Techniques for multimedia uplink packet handling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) representing an application data unit (ADU) from a base station. The base station may transmit an indication that the UE is to provide ADU level feedback. The UE may determine the ADU level feedback based on whether the ADU is successfully received and decoded or not. The UE may indicate the ADU level feedback for the TBs to the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate according to the ADU level feedback.

Flexible feedback with outer coding

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) or multiple UEs may transmit a grant-free uplink transmission to a base station. The base station may monitor resources for the grant-free uplink transmission (e.g., from one or more UEs) and the base station may generate a group feedback message corresponding to whether the base station successfully received the uplink transmission(s). The group feedback message may contain feedback for multiple uplink transmissions from one or multiple UEs. The group feedback message may be transmitted to a UE over a downlink shared channel or a downlink control channel and the UE may receive the group feedback message and may determine whether to retransmit the uplink transmission based on the group feedback message.

Group feedback techniques in wireless systems

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE has received, from a network, a sufficient quantity of protocol data units (PDUs) to decode a frame. Accordingly, the UE may indicate, to the network, that the UE has decoded the frame. Similarly, the UE may determine that the network has received, from the UE, a sufficient quantity of PDUs to decode a frame. Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more additional PDUs associated with the frame. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may receive, from the network, an indication to disable some feedback to the network. Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more feedback signals based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Traffic and feedback management based on frame decoding

Methods related to wireless communication systems and transmission and/or reception of synchronization signal block (SSB) transmissions (e.g., in full-duplex slots) are provided. For example, a wireless communication device receives a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission schedule. The SSB transmission schedule is at least partially overlapping with an uplink (UL) frequency portion of a full-duplex slot. The wireless communication device receives a first portion of a SSB in a downlink (DL) frequency portion of the full-duplex slot; and receiving a second portion of the SSB in the UL frequency portion of the full-duplex slot based on the SSB being scheduled in the full-duplex slot and at least partially overlapping with the UL frequency portion of the full-duplex slot. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising receiving an uplink (UL) grant from a network entity, wherein the UL grant schedules the UE to transmit an UL channel transmission associated with a plurality of logical channels (LCs), and the UL grant indicates a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmitting the UL channel transmission associated with the plurality of LCs, receiving a plurality of MCS offsets, and transmitting the UL channel transmission associated with one or more LCs of the plurality of LCs based on the MCS indicated in the UL grant and the plurality of MCS offsets.

Uplink logical channel specific modulation and coding scheme signaling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may aggregate multiple data bits into a group of data bits associated with an application on the device. The device may determine quality of service parameters associated with the group of data bits. The quality of service parameters may include an error rate associated with the group of data bits, a delay budget associated with the group of data bits, timing information associated with the group of data bits, or content policy information associated with the group of data bits, or a combination thereof. The device may transmit the group of data bits to another device in the wireless communication system. The group of data bits may include group header information including an indication of the quality of service parameters.

Group-based wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for service indication via downlink control information (DCI) in which different services have a same DCI size. Techniques provide also that a DCI format may be indicated by a masking operation on a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) of the DCI. The DCI may include an indicator field that may indicate the service of the associated operation. The indication may also be provided via different monitoring occasions of the DCI transmissions that are associated with different services. Different DCI search spaces also may be associated with different services and provide the service indication. Additionally or alternatively, different scrambling sequences used on all or a portion of control information or demodulation reference signal transmissions may be associated with different services.

Service and format indication techniques for downlink control information

Wireless communications systems and methods related to applying an uplink (UL) cancellation indication are provided. A UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) from a base station (BS). The DCI may include an uplink (UL) cancellation indication that references a plurality of resources in one or more full-UL slots and one or more full-duplex slots. The UE may refrain, based on the UL cancellation indication, from transmitting a communication in at least one of a first resource of the plurality of resources in the one or more full-UL slots or a second resource of the plurality of resources in the one or more full-duplex slots. Application of an uplink (UL) cancellation indication in a wireless communications network

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use easily detectable transmission parameters to infer difficult-to-detect parameters for communications with a base station. For example, the base station may provide the UE with multiple sets of transmission parameters, and the UEmay choose from among these sets of transmission parameters for the communications. In some cases, the UE may be configured with a reference set of transmission parameters, receive one or more transmission parameters that are different relative to the reference set of transmission parameters, and then determine to use the different transmission parameters for the communications. Additionally or alternatively, the multiple sets of transmission parameters may be specified for a certain uplink message (e.g., random access channel messages), where the UE selects the transmission parameter set based on one or more characteristics of the uplink message.

Signaling of transmission parameters

Methods related to wireless communication systems and transmission and/or reception of synchronization signal block (SSB) transmissions are provided. In some scenarios, communications may occur in one or more full-duplex slots. For example, a wireless communication device receives a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission schedule. The SSB transmission schedule at least partially overlapping with an uplink (UL) frequency portion of a full-duplex slot. The wireless communication device receives one or more SSBs, where the one or more SSBs are received in at least a slot different than the full-duplex slot or in a DL frequency portion of the full-duplex slot. Other features are also claimed and described.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may transmit an expiration indication to a receiving device as part of a scheduling message for a transport block. The expiration indication may provide information related to an expiration time for the transport block. If the expiration time is reached prior to successful reception by a receiving device, the receiving device may assume that the transport block has expired and may refrain from transmitting a retransmission grant, or may empty a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARM) buffer associated with the transport block. If the transmitting device fails to successfully receive an indication from the receiving device of a successful reception of the transport block prior to the expiration period, the transmitting device may also assume that the transport block has expired.

Expiration periods for low latency communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In one example, a base station may dynamically configure a user equipment (UE) to monitor or avoid monitoring for a preemption indication. Accordingly, the UE may have a lower chance of monitoring for a preemption indication when it is unlikely that an uplink or downlink transmission will be preempted. In another example, a base station may transmit a control message indicating whether future indications received from the base station are to be interpreted as preemption indications or permission indications. Accordingly, the base station may choose to use either preemption indications or permission indications (e.g., based on the probability of collisions between mobile broadband (MBB) and low latency transmissions) to facilitate MBB and low latency communication multiplexing with limited signaling.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station via a first instance of a periodic data burst, where the periodic data burst may include one or more uplink or downlink transmissions scheduled on a first bandwidth part (BWP). The UE may start a bandwidth switching timer at the beginning of the first instance of the periodic data burst, and determine whether the bandwidth switching timer has expired upon expiration of an inactivity timer that was triggered by receipt of one or more downlink control channel messages. The UE may operate, based on the determination, on one of the first BWP or a second BWP during at least a portion of a time period that extends from the expiration of the inactivity timer and a beginning of a second instance of the periodic data burst.
