A method comprises generating a first set of configurations of a layout of semiconductor components. The configurations of the first set of configurations each satisfy a first sub-set of a set of design rules. The method also comprises generating a second set of configurations of the layout of semiconductor components. The second set of configurations are generated by eliminating one or more configurations of the first set of configurations based on a determination that the eliminated one or more configurations of the first set of configurations fail to satisfy a second sub-set of the set of design rules. The method further comprises selecting a layout generation configuration for generating the layout of semiconductor components. The method additionally comprises generating the layout of semiconductor components based on the selected layout generation configuration.

Generating a semiconductor component layout

A slim-type optical disc drive includes a casing and a tray. A first circuit board is disposed within the casing. A second circuit board is disposed on the tray. A spring switch is disposed on the second circuit board. A first end of the spring switch is fixed on the second circuit board. A resistor is connected between the first end of the spring switch and a first power source. A second end of the spring switch is extended outside the second circuit board. In a tray-out status, the second end of the spring switch is not contacted with any object, so that a first status signal is generated. In a tray-in status, the second end of the spring switch is contacted with a conducting zone of a second power source, so that a second status signal is generated.

Slim-type optical disc drive

The present invention discloses a slim optical disc drive comprising a case with an upper cover and a lower cover, a disc tray for loading and unloading an optical disc, a first circuit board disposed on the lower cover, a second circuit board disposed on the disc tray, and a flexible flat cable for connecting the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The flexible flat cable comprises a fixed portion and a movable portion, and a patch is adhered to the movable portion of the flexible flat cable. The patch has a first end and a second end, and the width of the first end is larger than that of the second end.

An optical disc drive for marking a label side of a lightscribe disc is provided. The optical disc drive includes a spoke detecting device, a traverse assembly frame, a spindle motor PCB and an insulating base. The spoke detecting device is used for detecting spoke patterns on the lightscribe disc. The spindle motor PCB is communicated with the spoke detecting device through a flexible cable. The insulating base is coupled with the frame for supporting the spoke detecting device such that the spoke detecting device is separated from the lightscribe disc by a specified gap.

Lightscribe optical disc drive

A thin, high-fidelity piezoelectric loudspeaker is disclosed which comprises: (a) first and second metal discs that are spaced apart; (b) at least one damping disc sandwiched between the first and second metal discs; (c) first piezoelectric disc affixed to the first metal disc on the opposite side of the damping disc; and (d) second piezoelectric disc affixed to the second metal disc on the opposite of the damping disc. The metal discs and the piezoelectric discs are electrically connected, respectively, via varnished wires. These improved piezoelectric loudspeakers can be most advantageously used in portable electronic devices such as notebook personal computers, electronic dictionaries, personal digital assistants, electronic Rolodexes.RTM., etc, where space, especially thickness, is often at a premium and high-fidelity, miniature-sized speakers are highly desired.
