A handle for a computer component, such as a motherboard, of an information handling system may have an adjustable size. By allowing the handle to change size, the advantages of a large handle, such as easy handling and reduced damage to nearby components, are gained, and the advantages of a small handle, such as reduced size and improved airflow, are gained. The handle may be affixed to a computer component by any fastener such as a screw, pin, clip, or plastic connector. The handle may change size by increasing in height from a collapsed position to an expanded position, or change size by decreasing in height from an expanded position to a collapsed position. The handle may be moved into the expanded position for handling during assembly or repairs of a computer system, and then moved in to the collapsed position for normal operation of the computer system.

Extendable handle for computer component

An information handling system includes first processing resources, e.g., GPGPU expansion cards, in a first thermal region of the system and second processing resources, e.g., one or more CPUs, in a second thermal region. The system may be configured to perform operations including determining a loading profile of the system. The loading profile indicates power consumption information for each of the thermal regions. One or more thermal fans may be configured in accordance with a fan configuration associated with the loading profile. The fan configuration defines a fan speed and airflow direction for one or more thermal fans and determines, in accordance with the fan speed and airflow direction of each thermal fan, a rotational angle of one or more rotatable airflow guides. The rotational angle of a rotatable airflow guide influences thermal fan airflow provided to one or more of the thermal regions.

Rotatable air flow guides for cooling information handling system components

A divider for a bay of a blade server chassis includes a plurality of posts, a plurality of flex tabs, and a rail. The posts are located along a first side of the divider, and are configured to be inserted within respective holes in a first panel of the bay of the blade server chassis. The flex tabs are located along a second side of the divider, and are placed in physical communication with a second panel of the bay. The flex tabs are configured compress within the divider and away from the second panel to enable the posts to be inserted in the holes of the first panel, the second side of the divider being opposite to the first side of the divider. The rail is located along a third side of the divider, and is configured to guide a blade server within the bay.

Systems and apparatuses for ensuring proper heat sink installation in an information handling system are disclosed. The information handling system may include a first receiving mechanism configured to receive a first component and to be coupled with a first heat sink for cooling the first component. The information handling system may further include a second receiving mechanism configured to receive a second component and to be interchangeably coupled with one of the first heat sink and a second heat sink for cooling the second component. The information handling system may further include a bracket associated with the first receiving mechanism, the bracket having a key configured to allow the first receiving mechanism to be coupled with the first heat sink and to prevent the first receiving mechanism from being coupled with the second heat sink.

Ensuring proper heat sink installation in information handling systems

An air baffle for directing air within an information handling system is disclosed. The air baffle includes an open region configured to permit passage of an airflow, a closed region configured to obstruct passage of the airflow, and a variable region between the open region and the closed region. The air baffle further includes an adjustable tab configured to obstruct passage of the airflow. The variable region is configured to permit and obstruct passage of the airflow based on a position of the adjustable tab with respect to the variable region.

A case for an information handling system, the case comprising a front bezel, a side panel, a lock mounted in the front bezel and operable to restrict removal of the front bezel from the case, a latch mounted within the case operable to restrict removal of the side panel from the case, and a link connecting the lock and the latch such that operation of the lock to restrict removal of the front bezel from the case also restricts removal of the side panel from the case.
