A projection apparatus and its operation method are provided. The projection apparatus includes a light-emitting device, a driving circuit coupled to the light-emitting device, and a control circuit receiving at least one video frame and analyzing color content of the at least one video frame. According to at least one control signal, the driving circuit drives the light-emitting device to generate a projected beam. The control circuit selects a highlight mode or a normal mode as a selected mode according to the color content and correspondingly sets at least one control signal to the driving circuit according to the selected mode. A brightness of the projected beam of the light-emitting device in the highlight mode is greater than that in the normal mode.

Projection apparatus and operation method thereof

An optical component optically coupled to an optical fiber includes a substrate and an edge-emitting laser. The substrate includes an accommodating cavity, a plurality of openings, a waveguide, an optical coupler and a plurality of pads. The waveguide and the optical coupler are distributed outside the accommodating cavity. The openings are distributed at the bottom surface of the accommodating cavity and the pads are located at the bottom of the openings. The optical coupler is optically coupled to an end of the waveguide and includes a light-incident surface. The edge-emitting laser is embedded in the accommodating cavity and includes a light-emitting layer and a plurality of bumps located in the openings and electrically connected to the pads. The ratio of the level height difference between the light-emitting layer and the optical coupler to the thickness of the optical coupler ranges from 0 to 0.5.

A lighting instrument includes: a substrate; a plurality of first light-emitting diodes (LEDs) disposed over the substrate, wherein the first LEDs each have a first value range for a light output characteristic; a plurality of second LEDs disposed over the substrate, wherein the second LEDs each have a second value range for the light output characteristic, the second value range being different from the first value range; a phosphor layer located at a distance above the first LEDs and the second LEDs; and a light-reflective layer that is disposed on a surface of the phosphor layer; wherein the first LEDs interleave with the second LEDs according to a predefined pattern.

Cost-effective LED lighting instrument with good light output uniformity

An apparatus for generating a pulse train with an adjustable time interval is provided. The apparatus, being an annular optical cavity structure, includes a seed source receiving end, a pump source receiving end, an optical coupler, an optical combiner, a gain fiber, an optical path time regulator and a beam splitter. Thus, the apparatus is capable of generating a pulse train with an adjustable time interval to increase material processing quality and speed.

An apparatus for generating a short-pulse laser using a temporally modulated sideband gain is provided. The apparatus includes a laser diode and an external reflector. By use of a time difference resulted by a nanosecond laser pulse signal at the external reflector, a sideband gain is obtained for generating a short-pulse picosecond laser output.

The projector includes a photo sensor provided for generating a sensing voltage according to light intensity sensed by the photo sensor. The control circuit includes a first voltage-comparing unit, a reference voltage generating unit and a second voltage-comparing unit. The first voltage-comparing unit is provided for comparing the sensing voltage and a first reference voltage, to generate a first comprising result. The reference-voltage generating unit is provided for generating a second reference voltage and determining whether adjusting the second reference voltage according to the first comparing result. The second reference voltage is relatively larger than the first reference voltage. The second voltage-comparing unit is provided for comparing the sensing voltage and the second reference voltage, to generate a second comparing result.

Control circuit and operation method for projector

The present disclosure involves a lighting instrument. The lighting instrument includes a board or substrate, for example, a printed circuit board. The lighting instrument also includes a plurality of light-emitting devices disposed on the substrate. The light-emitting devices may be light-emitting diode (LED) dies. The LED dies belong to a plurality of different bins. The bins are categorized based on the light output performance of the LED dies. In some embodiments, the LED dies may be binned based on the wavelength or radiant flux of the light output. The LED dies are distributed on the substrate according to a predefined pattern based on their bins. In some embodiments, the LED dies are bin-mixed in an interleaving manner.

A backlight module, a light source module used therein, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The light source module outputs a mixed light which has color coordinates falling into a target zone in a color space. The light source module has a plurality of interlaced first light sources and second light sources. The light generated by the first and the second light sources respectively have color coordinates falling into a first zone and a second zone in the color space. The first and the second zones are respectively areas having a maximum width smaller than or equal to 0.02. In addition, the first and the second zones are symmetrical relative to the target zone.

A light emitting diode contains a package structure and a light emitting diode die embedded in the package structure. The package structure has an elliptic bottom surface having a semi-major axes and a semi-minor axis and a semi-ellipsoidal surface connecting and surrounding the edge of the elliptic bottom surface, wherein the maximum height of the ellipsoidal surface from the elliptic bottom surface is between the semi-major axes and the semi-minor axis.

A fiber laser system including a laser pumping source, first and second wavelength reflectors, first and second gain fibers, and first and second long wavelength reflectors is provided. The laser pumping source is adapted to emit a pumping beam. The first wavelength reflector is coupled to the laser pumping source. The first gain fiber is coupled between the first and the second wavelength reflectors. The first long wavelength reflector is coupled between the first gain fiber and the second wavelength reflector. The second long wavelength reflector is coupled between the first long wavelength reflector and the second wavelength reflector. The second gain fiber is coupled between the first and the second long wavelength reflectors. The diameter of the core of the first gain fiber is greater than the diameter of the core of the second gain fiber.

Fiber laser system

A display device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The display device includes an illuminate unit and a color filter. The illuminate unit has a light-emitting chip and a plurality of quantum dot phosphors for generating a color light which has an optical spectrum including the first blue peak wavelength, a first green peak wavelength, and a first red peak wavelength. The color filter is disposed in the light path of the color light, wherein the color filter has a transmittance spectrum having a second blue peak wavelength, a second green peak wavelength, and a second red peak wavelength. The first blue peak wavelength, the first green peak wavelength, and the first red peak wavelength respectively match the second blue peak wavelength, the second green peak wavelength, and the second red peak wavelength in order to enhance the color performance of the display device.

Display device with quantum dot phosphor and manufacturing method thereof

A light emitting diode contains a light emitting diode chip and a light directing structure disposed thereon. The light directing structure has a pair of connected hemi-ellipsoids and an interface interposed therebetween. Each hemi-ellipsoid comprises a bottom surface in a shape of an incomplete ellipse and an ellipsoidal surface connected to the bottom surface and the interface, wherein the largest vertical distance from the ellipsoidal surface to the bottom surface is longer than a height of the interface. The bottom surface has a major axis and a minor axis intersected to define a center, wherein the interface is connected to the minor axis.

In a driving circuit and method for preventing a lamp from blasting, a driving circuit includes a control circuit module, a voltage conversion circuit module, a driving module and a feedback circuit. The control circuit module outputs a first control signal according to a predetermined setting. The voltage conversion circuit module receives the first control signal and converts the first control signal into a second control signal. The driving module receives the second control signal and generates a driving signal according to the second control signal for driving the lamp. The feedback circuit electrically couples to one of the control circuit module, the voltage conversion circuit module and the driving module for receiving a feedback signal therefrom. The feedback signal is transmitted to the control circuit module, so that the control circuit module may adjust the first control signal according to the feedback signal.

Driving circuit and method for preventing lamp from blasting

A white-light emitting device comprises a substrate, a short wavelength light source, a protective layer, a first structure, and a second structure. The short wavelength light source is disposed on the substrate for generating a first light, and the protective layer covering the short wavelength light source is pervious to the first light. The first structure is disposed on the protective layer for generating a second light, in which the first structure includes a first quantum well and a transmission layer. The second structure is disposed on the first structure for generating a third light. Finally, the first light, the second light, and the third light are mixed to generate a white light.
