A piezoelectric motorization system has a mechanically flexible body that has one or more surfaces for placing piezoelectric actuators. The system has groups of piezoelectric actuators each positioned on one of the surfaces of the mechanically flexible body that is connected to the electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry controls the driving of the mechanical loads by the mechanically flexible body by injecting sets of control signals into different groups of actuators positioned on the mechanically flexible body. Each control signal operates groups of driving frequencies with an adjustable amplitude ratio and an adjustable phase difference among driving frequencies. And, under a set of boundary conditions exhibited by a set of structural dimensions of the mechanically flexible body, each control signal induces multi-mode resonance of the mechanically flexible body for driving the mechanical loads multi-dimensionally.

Piezoelectric apparatus for motorization

An electret loudspeaker device including a diaphragm, a first perforated electrode and a first spacer is provided. The diaphragm includes a first electret, a second electret, a polymer layer and an electrode layer. At least one layer of the first electret or the second electret is formed by expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. The second electret is stacked on one side of the first electret, while the electrode layer is stacked on the opposite side of the first electret. The polymer layer is made of a hydrophobic material and is disposed on the second electret. The first perforated electrode is stacked on a first spacer and close to the polymer layer. The first spacer disposed between the diaphragm and the first perforated electrode supports the first perforated electrode over the diaphragm and defines a first chamber. A fabrication method of the electret loudspeaker device is also provided.

Electret loudspeaker device

A method of making a nonfluoropolymer electret film is provided. The method may include: providing a polymer-containing solution, the polymer-containing solution comprising at least one polymer material, at least one solvent, and at least one surfactant, spreading the polymer-containing solution to provide a wetting polymer film, removing at least a portion of the solvent in the wetting polymer film to provide a polymer film, and conducting a Corona charging to the polymer film to form the electret film.

Method of manufacturing an electret film

An electret loudspeaker device including a diaphragm, a first perforated electrode and a first spacer is provided. The diaphragm has an electret layer and an electrode layer. The first perforated electrode is stacked on a side of the diaphragm near the electret layer, and has multiple holes. The first spacer is stacked between the diaphragm and the first perforated electrode, and includes a first distribution area and plural second distribution areas. The first distribution area has first openings penetrating through the first spacer, and each first opening has a first opening space volume between the diaphragm and the first perforated electrode. Each second distribution area has second openings penetrating through the first spacer, and each second opening has a second opening space volume between the diaphragm and the first perforated electrode. A difference between the first and the second opening space volumes is greater than 10%.

The present invention provides a linker for joining an electrode and a capture probe on a biochip, and a biochip comprising the linker. The impedance baseline of the linker of the present invention is three orders lower than the conventional long chain thiol linker when adopting in a fadaraic impedance biochip construction. With lower impedance baseline, the device designed to measure the signal of the biochip of the present invention could be further simplied on the electrical circuit design and be made in lower cost, compacter size and get the potential to be used in point-of-care applications. The present invention also provides a method of quantitatively detecting a concentration of a target analyte in a fluid sample by adopting the biochip and the linker of present invention.

Disclosed is an optical head, including a hollow micro-pipe and a stuffing member, the micro-pipe having a diameter-extended portion and a diameter-diminishing portion adapted allowing the incident light to transmit from the diameter-extended portion to the diameter-diminishing portion to emerge from its tip, and the stuffing member being disposed inside of the micro-pipe compared to prior techniques. The optical head of the invention is easier to be made, and it has a better focus for achieving optical exposure of sub-wave length focal spot and deep depth of focus.

A sound-generating device comprises at least two first enclosures and a thin film. The at least two first enclosures with at least one first bendable element coupled between two neighboring first enclosures. The thin film comprising at least one electrode and at least one piezoelectric layer, the at least one electrode being coupled with a terminal of an audio signal output, wherein the at least one piezoelectric layer is configured to respond to a signal supplied by the audio signal output and to generate sound waves. The thin film and the at least two first enclosures are coupled together forming at least two first cavities between the thin film and the first enclosure, and the first bendable element is attached to the thin film.

Flexible piezoelectric sound-generating devices

An actuator and a method for using the same are provided. The actuator includes a flexible element and a photoelectric layer. The flexible element includes an elastic layer or a piezoelectric layer. The photoelectric layer is disposed on a side of the flexible element. An electrical characteristic of the photoelectric layer is determined according to an irradiation condition of the photoelectric layer.

Actuator and method for using the same

An electret diaphragm and a speaker using the same are provided. The electret diaphragm includes an electret layer, a bonding layer adhered to a surface of the electret layer, and an aluminum (Al) electrode layer adhered on the bonding layer. The electret layer at least includes ethylene group polymer. A material of the bonding layer is ethylene-ethyl-acrylate (EEA) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).

A health monitoring device is provided and includes a detecting unit for detecting a first electric signal from a human body and a processing unit for performing the following steps: receiving the first electric signal; performing wavelet transform on the first electric signal, to filter frequency bands thereof which include undesired noises, and then perform a reverse wavelet transform to obtain a second electric signal; combining frequency bands of the first electric signal which include primary characteristics and then perform a reverse wavelet transform on the combined frequency bands to obtain a fourth electric signal; and comparing the fourth electric signal with a plurality of electric signal patterns of a database to determine whether the fourth electric signal is an electric signal for healthiness.

The invention provides an organic solar cell, including: a substrate having a first electrode formed thereon; a hole transport layer overlying the first electrode; a metal layer having a first pattern in the hole transport layer; a photoactive layer, including: a first organic semiconductor film having a second pattern complementary to the first pattern and overlying the metal layer and the hole transport layer; a second organic semiconductor film having a first pattern substantially aligned to the first pattern of the metal layer and overlying the first organic semiconductor film, wherein the first organic semiconductor film and the second organic semiconductor film have opposite conductive types; a second electrode overlying the photoactive layer. The invention further provides a method for forming the organic solar cell.

A sound-generating device comprises a first enclosure having at least one first electrode and a first piezoelectric layer, a first terminal of an audio signal output being coupled to the at least one first electrode of the first enclosure, a second enclosure having at least one first electrode and a first piezoelectric layer, and a first bendable element coupled between the first and second enclosures. The at least one first electrode is coupled with the first terminal of the audio signal output. The invention discloses a novel compound effective in inactivating viruses and bacteria. The compound, 2-(10-mercaptodecyl)-propanedioic acid or salts thereof, is shown to disrupt, break down or inactivate viruses and bacteria, thus suppressing infection and proliferation thereof in host cells. A method of chemically synthesizing the novel compound is also disclosed.
