A display device with switchable viewing includes a backlight module and a display panel. The backlight module includes a light guide plate, first optical structures, a reflector, a first light source, and a second light source. The light guide plate includes a bottom surface, a light exit surface, a first light incident surface, and a second light incident surface. The display panel is disposed on the light exit surface. The first optical structures are disposed on the bottom surface and each includes a first inclined surface and a second inclined surface. The angle between the first inclined surface and the bottom surface is smaller than that between the second inclined surface and the bottom surface. Lights from the first light source and the second light source enter the light guide plate from the first light incident surface and the second light incident surface, respectively. After entering the light guide plate, the lights can be reflected by the first inclined surface or the second inclined surface, or be refracted by the first inclined surface or the second inclined surface to the underlying reflector and reflected by the reflector back to the light guide plate from the first inclined surface or the second inclined surface. Based on such a structure, by controlling the on/off state of the first light source and the second light source, the viewing angle of the display device is switchable.

Display device with switchable viewing angle and backlight module thereof

A hollow edge-type backlight module with a light-emitting array and a display apparatus containing the same are disclosed. The hollow edge-type backlight module mainly utilizes a hollow reflection structure to replace a light-guide plate structure, and forms a light-emitting unit by collaborating with an edge-type light source, and forms a light-emitting array by appending together a plurality of light-emitting units. The reflection structure of each light-emitting unit has a horizontal surface and a reflective surface connected to the horizontal surface, wherein there is an angle included between the reflective surface and a surface extended from the horizontal surface, and the light source is disposed adjacent to the horizontal surface. A diffuser of the hollow edge-type backlight module is disposed above the reflective surface and the horizontal surface, and the diffuser, the light source, the horizontal surface and the reflective surface define at least one air cavity.

Hollow edge-type backlight module with light-emitting array

Backlight assembly includes a plurality of light guide plates, a plurality of light modules, and a plurality of driving units separately in control of corresponding light modules which are configured at the incident sides of the LGPs. Each light module faces two adjacent LGPs such that the driving unit drives the light module to provide light for two adjacent LGPs at the same time. As local dimming function is switched, besides the power-saving and the high contrast, the local edge effect due to the joint of the LGPs can be reduced.

Backlight assembly

A backlight module, a base used therein, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The backlight module includes a base and a slice-shaped circuit. The base has a back plate including a plate portion and a mezzanine portion. The mezzanine portion is parallelly offset from the plate portion, and the initial position of the mezzanine portion becomes an opening on the plate portion. Because the mezzanine portion is parallelly offset from the plate portion, a containing space is formed between an inner side of the mezzanine portion and the plane of the plate portion. A side of the mezzanine portion and a side of the plate portion corresponding to the opening together form a first slit. The slice-shaped circuit is inserted into the containing space through the first slit and stays between the plate portion and the mezzanine portion.

Backlight module with integrated base and method of manufacturing thereof

A lighting module comprises a bezel, a lamp and a fixing component. The lamp includes two straight portions and one bending portion therebetween. The two straight portions substantially being parallel to each other. A fixing component includes a main body fixed with the bezel and two C-ring structures individually having two ends connecting with the main body. The two straight portions are individually encircled by one of said two C-ring structures and in touch with the main body.
